Retouched Bearstones are bearstones that have been altered since the release of the stone. Altered means that the Bearstones have undergone a makeover by coloration. Coloration means that certain parts of the Bearstones have been recolored. Specifically, sometimes we receive Bearstones that are not, in our opinion, mint. We have evaluated these stones and decided that the defects are not great enough to destroy the integrity of the original stone. However, by leaving the stone as is, the enjoyment is diminished. Therefore, we have colored some parts of the Bearstones to cover the minor defects. These Bearstones do not have major defects, such as broken parts that have glued back on, big chips or other things that truly destroy the original state of the stone itself. These Bearstones do have little nicks (like fur ends and pointed tips on the feet) that have lost their color and are colored over. We have been doing this with our private collection, in testing mode, for about a year. We are good at this!! In fact, we would challenge you to find these little colorations. Heck, I can't find them when I go back to look them over! These are, of course, lower in price. And, like all of our items, they carry our 100% Guarantee!
