Chapter Seven

"I have to go now JC," Kimber said through a trembling voice. "But no, wait!" That's all JC could say before Kim hung up the phone. JC sat on the bed and put his head in his hands. "What's going on?" Joey asked. JC still sat there on the bed, not moving an inch nor responding to his friend's question. "Tell us what be going on," Justin urged. "Well," JC started. "Kimber clicked over to the other line for call waiting, ya know?" The guys all shook their heads. "Then she came back and said she had to go, and that was it." All the guys and Lynn sat there quietly, staring blankly in all different directions. Different thoughts flowed through their minds as to what all this could mean. Why was someone doing this to them? But most importantly, who was doing it? It was Lynn who finally broke the silence. "Why don't I try giving them a call back. I'll find out what was going on with that call on the other line." The guys all agreed, and JC gave Lynn the phone.
*ring ring*
Brandi answered the phone. "Hello?" she said in a quiet voice. "Hey, how are you girls holding up? Ok, I hope," Lynn said soothingly. "Care to tell me about what just happened?" "Well, Kimber was on the phone with JC when she got a call on the other line..." Brandi proceeded to explain to Lynn concerning the other call. "... and she was just so frightened that she hung the phone up." "I can level with that," Lynn assured. "Lynn, someone wants to talk with you," Brandi said as she handed the phone to Cheryl. "Lynn?" "Yes, is that you, Cheryl?" "Yeah, it's me. What in the hell is going on here? I thought this was over with. Has everyone gone friggen crazy? And how did they even get our friggen phone number? If these people wanna dittily-fuck around, that's no problem, but at least they can get their candy-asses down here and do it friggen face to face goddamnit!" "Ok, calm down. You girls should be fine for the rest of the night. Get some sleep for yourselves. Call me if you need anything," Lynn said. "Will do," Cheryl responded, a little bit calmer than before. "Good night." With that, they hung up the phone. The girls got settled in and eventually fell asleep, as so did the guys in their hotel.

The next morning bright and early the guys were at the MTV studios. They had just arrived when a man with a shaved head and a gold chain walked up to them. "Aye, you must be the boys, um, I mean men, that we called!" the man said in a loud but friendly voice. "I'm Kevin, and you must be-" "JC," JC answered. "Lance." "Chris." "Joey." "Muh name be Justin." They all introduced themselves and shook hands. "I will be your director for the show. Just stick to what I tell you to do, and everything should be just fine," Kevin said in a pushy tone. As Kevin turned to walk away, Chris leaned over and whispered into Joey's ear, "Just remove that stick from out of your ass, and we'll get along just fine." The rest of the guys couldn't help but overhear and laugh. Back at the girls apartment, Katy had just begun to wake up. "Are you up?" Katy whispered to the bunk above hers. "No," Cheryl replied, and turned over. "Great, just great. C'mon, you're going to the kitchen to eat breakfast with me," Katy instructed. "Oh no I'm not! I'm stayingin my warm bed and sleeping for another day or so," Cheryl went on. "Fine, suit yourself. I'll be in the kitchen." Just as Katy walked into the kitchen, the phone rang. With a little hesitation, she picked up the phone. "Hello?" "Katy! It's so good to hear your voice!" "Lizzy! How have you been? Long time no talk," Katy said. "Yeah, no kidding, huh? Listen, us here at the studio would like to know if you girls would maybe be interested in working on a new album. We have some new ideas for one." "That's ... wonderful!" Katy replied. "I mean, when? Where?" "Well," Lizzy started. "We were thinking about withing the next couple of weeks or so. And as for the place, well, right here in Orlando. You girls would have to fly or drive down and stay here for a while until you finnish the album." "Gosh, that's soon. Let me give ya a call back so I can relay that on to the girls. Would that be alright?" Katy asked. "Sure. Sounds great! I'll be waiting to hear from y'all!" After Katy had hung up the phone, she ran to wake up the rest of the girls to tell them the good news. The day wore on, and the guys had finnished their show. Dispite Kevin's attitude, things went smoothly, and the show went well. It was about 4:30 in the afternoon, and the guys had just gotten back into their limo and were headed back to the hotel. It took about 10 minutes to get to their hotel. They made their way to the elevator. When they got out, Chris yelled, "Last one there is a rotten egg!" as him and the rest of the guys ran to the room where they were staying. Justin had gotten there first. Instead of just going into the room, he just stood infront of the door. "C'mon Justin, go in!" Lance urged. "SHHHH!!!" Justin whispered. "The door was open. I think I hear voices." They all turned to eachother's scared expressions. "Do you think we should call security?" JC asked. Ignoring JC's suggestion, the door creaked as Justin slowly pushed it open ...
