Chapter Eight
Justin pushed the door slowly open......
"SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!" six ladies (Joyce was with them) yelled, laughing at the expressions of the guys.
"Did you all think it was a burgler or something?" Cheryl asked, going up to Chris.
"Don't EVER do that again. What are you trying to do? Scare us to death." CJ said, finally getting color back into his face from all the excitement.
"Oh, we're soooo sorry" Brandi joked as the other girls giggled.
The guys made their way in to eh room and told the girls about the new show.
"So what are you girls doing here anyway?" Lance asked.
"What, you don't wanna see me?" Katy asked, crossing her arms and pouting jokingly.
"Yah, that's it, I just can't stand to be around you at all." Lance joked, playing along.
"Oh I see how it is. No, we have some good news and we wanted to tell ya, plus get out of the apartment." Katy said.
"So are you gonna tell us?" Lance asked, taking Katy's hand in his. He noticed how she got a look of fear on her face at the hint of the events going on and wanted to be there for her. The other girls had the same looks on their faces.
"Well," Katy began changing the subject, "Lizzy called us today and we are going to be recording a new album."
"That's great!!!" Awesome!!!!" "Congrats!!!!" cheers were spoken from all the guys.
"Where are you gonna record at?" Justin asked.
"Well, here's the kicker," Cheryl started.
"ORLANDO!!!!!!" Chels yelled before Cheryl could finish.
"Really?!? When and how long?" Chris asked getting excited at the thought of having Cheryl there with him for a while, hoping he would be at home.
"We will be there in a week and it will take about 6 weeks or so. Also, we might come back down there to do rehearsals for our new tour for the album, but that s still a LONG way off. So basically, we'll be there next week and stay for about 2 months." Katy told everyone. "Also, with everything going on, management finally okayed us having a personal assistant, which will be Joyce here, so she will be with us."
"That's great news!" Justin piped up to what Katy had said, more to the part about Joyce though. There was just something about her.....
"Yah, great. Just peachy." Brandi said under her breath, knowing what Justin meant with his comment.
The following week went by fast for the girls and Lizzy (their manager). They were packing, making plans for the album, songs, rehearsal and recording schedules, living arrangements. The new album and where they would be staying was being kept as secret as possible, for the girls safety.
"So girls, do we have everything?" Katy asked as she made one last sweet of the apt.
"I think so." Kimber said, helping Katy with the last sweep.
"Well, lets get goin'!" Cheryl said as she picked up her suitcase and headed out the door. The rest of the girls picked up their things and headed for the airport.
At the Airport............
"Lizzy!!!!!" The girls said greeting their manager. They hadn't seen each other in a while. Lizzy was in Boston and met them in NYC at the airport to fly down with them to Orlando.
"Hey ladies!!" She said while exchanging hugs.
"Lizzy, this is my cousin Joyce. She's gonna be our PA." Katy said, introducing her cousin.
"Hi nice to meet you." Joyce said, shaking her hand.
Just then their flight was called. They all boarded and settled down for the trip to O-Town. During the flight, Lizzy was giving them the final details about their arrangements for living, and the trip at hand. They would be staying in a condo, not to far from the beach. And there shouldn't be any fans at the terminal in Tampa and they would be taking a van to their condo from there. They would also meet new security personnel there in Tampa.
When they arrived in Tampa, the gate was packed with fans, how they found out when they were arriving, and where, and even that they were coming was a mystery, but they were there. The security was having difficulties with all of them. It was a struggle to get the luggage and get to the van.
"Is it like this all the time?" Joyce asked, fixing her hair that was messed up by fans.
"Usually only at scheduled appearances and promotional stuff. There's occasionally a group of fans, but not like that." Katy answered, still in awe of what had just happened.
"They were worst than most we've encountered!!!" Brandi exclaimed, taking off the overshirt she had on that was ripped on their way out.
"Yah." They all agreed.
"I thought no one even knew we were gonna be in Orlando?" Katy asked.
"I don't know how, but I guess they found out." Lizzy answered.
"You can say that again." Cheryl exclaimed.
They drove for a while, looking at the scenery. When they finally got to their condo it was great!!!!!!!!!! It was very pretty, and the beach was 15 minutes away. They couldn't wait to go inside.
