Chapter Three
Lance had just gotten off the phone when Chris decided to announce, "I have
to tend to my business."
Joey, Lance, and JC looked at each other in confusion.
"I think he means he has to go to the bathroom," Justin explained, as Chris
went to the bathroom.
The four guys made their way to the other room where their suitcases were.
They would all get ready in there.
Forty-five minutes had passed, and Lance, Justin, JC, and Joey had gotten
ready for their tour and night out with the girls. Chris was still in the
bathroom in the other room.
"God, hurry up!" Katy told Cheryl.
"I can't go too fast, you know how the cops are around here," Cheryl said, as
she pulled up to a stop sign.
Katy sat back in the passenger's seat.
"They're waiting for us," Chelsea pressed from the back seat.
"Don't worry," Cheryl reassured them both. "We'll be there any minute now."
In less than five minutes, the girls had found a parking space and made their
way into the hotel.
"What rooms were they in again?" Chelsea asked.
"Rooms 523 and 524," announced Katy.
The three girls got on the empty elevator, and went up to the fifth floor.
"Which room should we try first?" Chelsea wondered.
Katy thought for a moment. "Let's try 523."
As they stood in front of the door, Cheryl knocked at it.
Justin opened the door. "Hey! Long time no see!" he exclaimed as he gave
the girls each a big hug.
"Where's Kimber and Brandi?"
"They're not gonna come," Katy answered.
"That's too bad," Justin announced.
JC, Joey, and Lance made their way to Justin and the girls.
"Oh my God, we've missed you guys so much!" Cheryl said, as they walked into
the room. They all missed each other.
"Alright, let's bounce," Justin said, heading for the hallway.
"Wait," Katy said. "We can only fit two more in Cheryl's car. The rest of
you will have to take a cab and follow us around."
"Alright," JC said. "Lance, you can ride with Katy- oops! I meant the
girls."
Lance blushed.
"And Chris can go with y'all, too," JC decided. "Justin, Joey, and I will
take a cab."
Cheryl paused for a moment. "Speaking of Chris, where is the little devil?
Wasn't he supposed to come, too?"
"CHRIS!!!!!!!" Lance shouted. "I can't believe we almost forgot Chris!"
Faster than a bolt of lightning, Lance booked it into room 524, the room that
Chris was in. "Chris?"
"What?" a voice answered from inside the bathroom.
"Is that you, Chris?" Lance asked.
"No, it's Jack the Ripper, and I'm going to gut you! Yes, it's me, what do
you want? I'm trying to read the New York Times."
Lance couldn't help but chuckle. "Our rides are here."
"Oh goodie," Chris said, as he folded up the newspaper and flushed the
toilet.
"God, let's get out of here. You smell, Chris!"
With that, Lance and Chris went out in the hall and met everyone else. They
went down to the parking garage; Lance got in the back of Cheryl's car with
Katy and Chelsea, and Chris got in the passenger front seat next to Cheryl.
JC, Joey, and Justin hailed the first cab they saw.
Central Park was their first stop. As the eight of them got out of the cars,
they walked down to where people were ice skating.
"That looks so fun!" Chelsea said.
Joey looked at the rest of the guys. "Well, what are we waiting for?? Let's
go!!!"
Everyone approved. For a better part of the afternoon, they spent it ice
skating at Central Park. Cheryl and Chris were goofing like they hadn't spent
a day apart. It was just like good ole times again. Lance and Katy wouldn't
get more than 5 feet apart all day, holding hands and stealing smooches
whenever given the chance. And as for Chelsea and Joey, they flirted the
whole time. It's what they did best.
After Central Park, they all went to Rockefeller Center. Other than the
girls, Joey acted as an extra tour guide, since he knew his way around, as
well.
It was about 5 in the afternoon, and they were all having the greatest time
since they had ended their tour. If only Brandi and Kimber could be there
with them.
"That was a great movie. I don't think my eyes were dry during the whole
film," Kimber said, a little bit sniffily.
"Yeah," Brandi agreed as she wiped her eye with a Kleenex. "What do you want
to watch next?"
"I don't know, I'm too depressed to think about it. You pick." Although she
didn't let it on, she began to miss JC very much.
Brandi went through the big draw that contained all the movies. They must
have had over a hundred videos between the five of them.
"This will cheer us up!" Brandi exclaimed as she held up a movie.
"What's that?"
"Dumb and Dumber!!!!!"
Both girls loved that movie, so they popped it in the VCR. The big screen tv
had just gotten delivered not too long ago, and Brandi and Kimber had decided
to break it in. It was just like going to the movies.
It was planned that they would see the Empire State Building last, so that's
where they were heading towards. Once they got up there, JC was in awe of how
the city looked from the top of the Empire State Building. It was as
breathtaking as he had always imagined it to be. The lights from the other
buildings twinkled like diamonds in the night sky. The sky was like a sheet
of deep blue velvet hovering above them. As he turned around, he saw Joey
and Chelsea flirting, again-- this time they were at their absolute best. He
couldn't help but think of Kim and how he missed her so. He missed her, and
wished that she was there with him, gazing at the stars together.
Downstairs, Lance, Katy, Chris, and Cheryl were waiting for the rest to come
down. It was almost 9 o'clock, and it had been a long day. Lance and Katy
were sitting on a bench near the entrance.
"So, you're going to be doing a show for MTV?" Katy asked Lance.
"Yeah," Lance answered, looking deep into her eyes. "It's this new show, and
they want us to be their first guests. Now how could we turn down that
offer?"
"Haha, I guess you can't!" Katy answered.
He looked deep into her eyes. they were bright like saphires and windows to
her soul. He never knew how much he could miss them. She returned his gaze
with just as much passion and longing. Then he pulled her soft lips to his,
giving her a kiss. A kiss like no other. Tender, yet filled with passion.
"Ahem!" Chris cleared his throat as he walked over to a very surprised
couple.
"Hey Chris," Lance said, as he wiped his mouth.
"Sorry to interrupt you two, but Cheryl and I are going out to warm her car
up so y'all will have a warm car to get into. You know where we're parked, so
when the others come down, tell them that we're gonna leave," Chris said.
"Ok, will do," Katy and Lance both said, and got back to what they were doing
before Chris had decided to grace them with his presence.
Cheryl had already gotten into her car when Chris got there.
"Hey," he said.
"Hey," Cheryl shot back.
"It's nice to see you again."
"Even nicer to see you," Cheryl said, returning the line, as she started the
car.
Chris smiled. "I think I have something in the back for you."
"You do?"
"Yes, I do," Chris reasurred her. "If you go back there, I can show it to
you."
They both got out of the car, and opened up the back door to get in.
"I don't see anything back here, what is it?" Cheryl asked.
"This," he said as he put his arms around her body and kissed her. The car
was getting warmer and warmer. Warmer with heat and warmer with passion.
Chris slowly started to unbutton her shirt as they were almost laying
horizontal. Returning the favor, Cheryl started playing with Chris' belt
buckle. Just as she was getting it loosened up, the car doors swung open.
