Chapter Nine
Lauren woke up the next day and moaned. Her head hurt from crying and her eyes were burning. 'I hate crying' she thought. Then she heard a knock at her door. "Yeah" she yelled.
"I just wanted to make sure you were awake!" Lance said slowly walking into her room.
"Yeah, I'm awake. How long until we leave?"
"Bus should be here in 2 hours. Your eyes are red are you okay?" Lance asked, looking into
Lauren's face he thought ' I wonder what made her cry?'
"Yeah I am fine! I just cry sometimes. It was a crazy thing to cry over, I'm fine now." Lauren said in a reassuring voice.
"Okay, I was just worried." Lance said looking at his hands, then walked over to the bed where she was still laying down. He sat beside her "Was your dinner with Justin fun last night?"
"Fun yeah I guess. It was an educational experience. I just needed to talk to him about some stuff to help clear my mind." Lauren scooted up in her bed and pulled the blanket flat across her stomach.
"You know…we have tomorrow night off after the concert. I thought maybe we could go to a club or something?" Lance said. While waiting on her response he thought 'She's even beautiful in the morning. Dang I just wish I could take her in my arms and kiss her worries away.'
Lance snapped out of his thoughts as Lauren said "Are you sure you won't be to tired after the show?"
"If so then maybe we can just watch a movie or something." Lance said, adding in his mind 'anything to just be near you'
"Yeah sounds good to me!" Lauren said.
"Well I better go so you can get packed and dressed." Lance said as he leaned over and gave Lauren a hug, not wanting to let go he held her.
"What's this for?" Lauren asked still holding him as tight as he was holding her.
"Just thought you might need a hug. Was I wrong?" Lance asked starring deep into her eyes.
"No you weren't wrong. I can use a hug at just about anytime of any day." Finally they both let go and Lance stood up, he leaned down and kissed Lauren's forehead aching to kiss her lips. Turning to leave Lance heard "See you in a little bit."
"Yeah let me know if you need any help with your bags." Lance said continuing to walk out of her room, while resisting the urge to turn around and kiss her again. Lance left her room and did not see her again until they started loading the bus. After putting his small bags in his bunk, he loaded his other suitcases into the storage area. Just as he was finishing he saw Lauren fighting to get her bags to the bus. Lance smiled and shook his head and walked over to her "I said to give me a yell if you needed help with your bags!"
"I can get it. I don't need help." Lauren snapped.
"Yeah yeah! Here let me help." Lance said taking one of her bags and then the other "See much easier with a little help."
"Whatever" Lauren said then stormed off to the bus.
"What did I say?" Lance said quietly. Then he heard a giggling sound coming from behind him. He turned to see Justin laughing and shaking his head. "What are you laughing at?"
"Nothing, you just have a lot to learn about her. Especially if you ever want to get past the friend stage." Justin said walking up beside Lance.
"I think I have tried to prove that, but I don't think she wants to be more then friends. She just pushes me farther away every time I try to get close." Lance said looking to where Lauren had stormed off.
"Believe me, give her time. It'll all work out, and keep trying you might be surprised one day."
"What do you know that I don't?" Lance asked looking at Justin with a confused look on his face.
"Ha ha…that for me to know and you to find out LATER! Lauren told me you two were doing something after the show tomorrow." Lance shook his head yes and Justin continues "have you thought of a late dinner at a nice small restaurant and then maybe a moon light walk after that?"
"No, but that sounds a heck of a lot better then being in a club all night. Do you think she will go along with it?"
"I am sure she will." Justin said then the two of them walked to the bus. They put Lauren bags away.
Lance then asked, "What did I do earlier to annoy her?"
"Oh that! Well she is ver independent, if she wants and needs help she'll ask for it. She hates to be babied or anything close to it, when it comes to her being capable of doing something."
"Oh okay!" Lance said a little shocked.
"Let's go we…or actually you have a tour to give. I think I am gonna call Chrissy and then catch some zzz's. I didn't sleep well last night!" Justin said climbing onto the bus then yelled "LAUREN?"
"You don't have to yell I am sitting right here. Open your eyes!" Lauren said from the couch right inside the door.
"Oh, Lance is going to show you the ropes and stuff of the bus. I'm going to sleep." Justin said. He leaned down and gave her a hug then whispered in her ear "Be nice and Play nice please…he is a good guy!"
"Night Blue Boo." Lauren said laughing. Justin looked at her and shook his head. He knew that sooner or late if he kept calling her girlie that she would use the nickname he hated on him.
Justin looked at his band mates and said, "She is the only one who can call me that and not die afterwards. UNDERSTAND?"
They all shook their heads yes, while laughing and said, "Yes, BLUE BOO!"
"Look what you started!" Justin said to Lauren.
"What I started? Who is the one that called who GIRLIE all week. I am sure that your sweet friends will forget about the name by the time you wake up from your nap. Now go to bed. You're turning into a grouch." With that Justin laughed and walked to the bunkroom. He found his bunk and made sure that Lauren got the one across from him. He curled up and called Chrissy. They talked for a little while and both couldn't wait until July first when she was coming. Hanging up the phone Justin fell asleep thinking about Lauren and Lance. He couldn't help but wonder if it would work our if one of them would get hurt.
