Chapter Ten

Joey and Chris went to the back of the bus to watch TV and just relax. JC decided to get some sleep after calling a couple of friends he didn't get to say good bye to. "Well," Lance said sitting on a couch bench across from Lauren "What do you need to see or know?" "Well, I need to know where to put my stuff and know where stuff is." Lauren said. "Oh so basically you want our VIP tour." Lance said joking. He stood then extended his hand to help her up. He showed her the kitchen and lounge area, the bunks, the changing area, and then the TV and music room. "Welcome Home." Lance said showing her exactly which bunk was hers. "Thanks, I feel all warm and fuzzy inside." Lauren said sarcastically. "Well Justin is right here, and I'm in the bunk above his." Lance said pointing to the other beds continued, "There is an extra bed above yours and above JC's bunk so people will be storing stuff there for now." "Okay, I think this will take some getting used to." "Yeah, it takes a few days or a week then it really becomes home to us." Lance said. They turned to go watch TV with Joey and Chris. As Lauren was about to open the door the bus made a sharp right turn. Not having a good footing Lauren started to fall backwards and to her right. Just as she thought she was going to fall completely she felt an arm go around her waist and catch her. Standing back up she saw that it was Lance that had caught her. "Thank you." She said. "No problem. You okay?" Lance asked. "Yeah, I am fine." Lauren said noticing his arm still around her, and thinking 'you don't have to let go' Lauren leaned into Lance and gave him a hug feeling his other arm slip around her waist, she put her arms around his neck. "I think I should probably go sit down before I really fall." "Yeah, I think your right." Lance said letting go of her with one arm but keeping the other around her waist for support. They went in and watched TV. Lauren and Lance sat on one of the couches, and tried to keep the other one from noticing their stares. Justin and JC woke up a couple hours later hungry and wanting to eat. They ate at Burger King. Back on the bus the guys decided they should practice a little. The five guys sat at the table in the front and started to sing. Lauren borrowed Justin's laptop and went to her bunk. She sat and listened to the group forgetting that she was going to write a letter home. Lauren loved to pick out voices and she sat there and tried to hear each voice as it mixed with the groups. She listened for Chris first. Lauren could easily hear his falsetto voice going up and hitting an extremely high note. She giggled to herself as she thought 'I wonder if he sings higher then I do.' Lauren went back to her listening and listened for JC's voice. His soft, masculine voice was easy to hear and as she listened and it started to sooth her into sleep. Becoming tired she struggled to hear the other three voices. Justin's voice stood out to her, not because it was different but because she had been listening to him sing for years. Lauren loved his voice, still young and energetic. Lauren yawned as she finally picked out Joey's voice. It had it's own sound but blended well with the group. Yawning again Lauren place Justin's unused laptop on his bunk and laid down, pulling a blanket over her. She laid there still trying to listen to the guys harmonizing. The last voice she heard was Lance's. She had heard it earlier but this time she listened to him sing. His deep bass voice drifted into her head and started to lull her to sleep. Lauren thought of Lance and smiled remembering his arms around her earlier. 'I really do like him' she thought to herself then realized how cheesy that was and giggled. She thought of his face and closed her eyes and fell asleep with Lance's face and voice in her mind.
