Prologue

"How do I tell you about the five greatest guys to ever live? They've had more impact on my life than I ever could have imagined..." As my voice went on, my mind was flooded by the memories.

"Mom, I'm going to go to the campstore. I'll be back later." I tried to quickly walk away but was stopped by my mother's voice.

"Oh, Nik. I'm sure you'll be back just in time to see we've finished putting up the tent," she saw my smiles and continued, "I don't think so. You're going to help us put this damn thing up." I slumped my shoulders and walked back to the pile of stuff, which was supposed to be our tent.

"Oh, ok. Let's get this started." All four of us struggled to get our tent standing. Cathy, my younger sister, eventually whined enough that our parents let her sit in the van and listen to a CD.

"She could whine her way out of anything."

"Hey, Kev. I thought you said we got a campsite out in the back so we wouldn't be near anyone."

"I did," he walked over to the window, "Damn. We were supposed to have some privacy. This is just great. They have two teenage daughters."

"They're pretty cute though."

"AJ, is that all you ever think about?"

"Nick, you aren't one to talk to me about that. I seem to recall-"

"Ok, break it up," Howie interjected.

"We're pretty much covered. Our tents cover all of our stuff. They'll never see us. Who knows that they'd recognize or even care anyway," Kevin rationalized.

"Where's Rok at? I wanna shoot some hoops," Nick said anxiously while holding his basketball.

"He went to the campstore. He should be back soon."

"Ok. We're done. Now, you may go to the campstore."

"Gee, thanks, Mom. Now, I'm going to sleep." I crawled into the tent and rolled out my sleeping bag. As I climbed in I popped my Bryan White CD into my Discman.

A bright flash went off in my face.

"What was that for?"

"I have to get pictures. This is a family vacation. Maybe the last before you go off to college in a year." As my mom was leaving the tent, she added, "By the way, you might be interested to know that there are some good looking young men on the site next to us," I looked up and raised an eyebrow, "Most of them look too old for you, but a couple of them are ok."

"Ok. Thanks, Mom, but I know how your taste in guys can be, no offense. I think I'll be sticking to the guys I find. I think I'm going to go to the campstore now. I'll be back later."
