“And the number one most requested video in the USA is The Moffatts ‘Until You Loved Me’,” Carson Daily told America from Sarah’s TV set.
“Their number one again,” Sarah said as she switched the phone from her right ear to her left ear.
“Omigod! Are you serious?” an excited Dana asked from the other end. Dana jumped onto the couch and flipped on the TV. She sighed at the sight of Clint, who she totally adored.
“You are so lucky your friends with them Sar. You get to talk to my Clinty everyday. He is so hot,” Dana swooned.
“Yuck! Please! These guys are like brothers to me! And Clint is not hot,” Sarah replied disgustedly. The line was silent for a minute while the two girls thought about who knows what.
“Did you tell Clint about me?” Dana asked as she rewound her Moffatts tape to the beginning. Sarah rolled her eyes, Dana asked her that question everytime they talked.
“Yes Dana. I’ve told him all about you, I’ve even showed him pictures of you and me.”
“Which ones?”
“You know those ones Kater took on the last day of school, and my last day at F-M.”
“Oh yeah. I look really bad in those and I look really fat in those too! SARAH!! How could you show him those?! I’ve lost ten pounds since then!! UGH! I’m sending you new ones,” Dana informed her friend. Sarah once again rolled her eyes.
“Dana you did NOT look fat in those! And plus we were eleven!”
“I know but still,” Dana protested.
“Hold on a sec I have a beep.”
"Okay."
"Hello?"
“Hey Sar, it’s Clint we’re goin’ swimming you comin’?”
“Yeah let me get my bathing suit and get off with Dana,” Sarah said as she walked to her room, which was covered with Hanson posters.
“Dana’s on the other line?” Clint asked.
“Yeah and have you called her yet?”
“No I still have to do that, and Dave that’s mine give it to me you greese monkey!” Clint screamed at Dave who was holding his favorite T-shirt.
“Well look the other line is long distance so I’ll be over in a second. Bye!”
“Bye babe.” Sarah switched over to the other line.
“Dana? Hi sorry. That was Clint. He and the guys want me to go over and swim so I should go,” Sarah said as she pulled her shirt over her head.
“It was Clint? UGH! Tell him he is so talented and that I am his biggest fan and....”
“The usual?” Sarah asked sarcastically. Dana frowned.
“Whatever. Bye Sar!”
“Bye.”
Okay I’ve got my towel, bathing suit, and a change of clothes. I’m ready! Sarah thought to herself. She threw everything in a bag and ran out the door.
“Hey Sheila!” Sarah greeted Shelia, the boy’s stepmom, as she ran through the kitchen.
“Hi Sarah their out back,” Shelia said as she spread Mayo on her sandwich. Sarah opened the screen door and took off up the hill to the pool. Bob and Dave were already in the water, Clint was walking around the pool beating Bob with a bright pink noodle, and Scott was reading a book while eating cookies.
“Hey guys!” Sarah called cheerfully as she opened the gate to the pool.
“Hey Sar!” they all called at random times. Sarah put her bag on the table and sat down near Scott.
“Hey Scott, whatcha readin’?” Sarah asked as she spread sunscreen on her arms and legs.
“The Amityville Horror. Man, this book is so scary,” Scott replied as he set the book down and watched Sarah spread the sunscreen on her legs. Sarah turned to him.
“We should rent that movie tonight! It’s supposed to be so scary!” Sarah suggested.
“The book has really freaked me out so I bet the movie is even scarier!”
“Will Sheila mind if I spend the night? I mean I’m over here enough! Are you sure she wont mind?”
“Sar, this is Sheila we’re talkin about! She loves you! Your the daughter she never had! Come on get real!” Scott laughed.
“Okay then! I’ll ask my mom. Now let’s push Clint in the pool!”
Sarah suggested with an evil grin.
