Isaac woke up at 6:00 he quickly took a shower and dressed. He wore a shirt that Sarah had given him yesterday and he threw on a pair of black corduroy pants. He decided to put a black T-shirt underneath and then leave the shirt Sarah got him open. He looked around and realized everyone was still asleep. He grabbed the car keys to the bug and left to the hospital.
Sarah stirred a little and shifted position. She heard a couple people come into her room and wake her up. "Sarah! Sarah! Wake up! We found a heart!" She jolted awake, "what?" "Sarah, we found a heart!" She sat up, "are you serious?" "Yes, we're taking you to the OR and prep you. Sarah, when you wake up you'll be able to breathe normally. And after a month or so you'll be able to run and do normal things again!" She got exciting and her heart started pumping. The doctors noticed this and were rushing her to the OR, "good luck Sarah!" was the last thing she remembered because they started to put her under.
Ike reached the hospital and took the elevator to her room. Today was her birthday and Ike stopped off and got her a cake. He checked a clock on the wall because since he was holding the cake he couldn't glance at his watch. He walked into her room and the bed was made and she wasn't there. He put the cake on the table and called out her name; "Sarah?" and he opened the bathroom door but nothing. He started to get frightened and ran out of the room. He ran into the girl from yesterday. "Are you looking for that friend of yours?" "Yes, do you know where she is?" "Ike, they found her a heart, they were on their way to the OR." He smiled, "are you serious?" "Yeah, dead serious." And he ran off and Micky calling after him, "good luck!"
Ike ran down the hall to the OR. He found a nurse's station, "where's Sarah? She was having a heart transplant." The nurse looked at him for a moment and then smiled, "hey! You're that boy from Hanson aren't you?" "Yes I am, but where's Sarah?" "Just a sec, my daughter really loves you guys, would you mind signing an autograph for her?" He was about to chew her out but nodded. "Yes, what's her name?" The mother went threw a shopping bag behind the desk and pulled out a half size official Hanson poster. "I brought this for her and accidentally left it here. Her name is Jennifer." She unwrapped the poster and gave him a pen. He signed it Hanson forever Jennifer, Love Isaac" "Thank you so much Isaac, you friend is still in the OR but go all the way down and take a right. There's a waiting room and you can wait there and I'll make sure a doctor comes and tells you what's going on?" "Thank you very much." And he kept running down the hall until he reached the OR. There were some windows on the doors. He saw 4 doctors and 3 nurses working on her. The sight he saw made him sick.
His Sarah, his love, was lying on a table exposed and her chest looking like it was ripped open. A nurse came up behind him, "what do you think you are looking at?" He turned around. "I'm sorry, that's my . . . my girlfriend in there." She shook her head, "first you lie and say you guys don't have girlfriends and now you do? Try telling your female fans the truth. But you'll have to sit down and wait, I'm going in and I'll come out in a while and tell you what's going on." She walked passed Isaac and walked into the OR. He ignored her request and watched.
Ike looked at his watch and he had been waiting for over 45 minutes. Anxiety was building and Ike was beginning to pace. He sat back down and was wide-awake. He stood up and was going to look in the door when a different nurse came out. "Isaac?" He looked at her, "yes? What? How is she?" The nurse smiled, "she's fine. We're taking her to the ICU and letting her rest. The new heart is functioning perfectly and we're starting her on anti-rejection drugs. She's going to be very tired for a while and won't be able to handle any excitement or stress of any kind. I know you want to see her but would you mind coming back tomorrow so she can rest?" "I can't, today is her birthday." She smiled, "Isaac, don't you think this is the best birthday gift she could possibly receive?" He nodded, "when she wakes up will you please tell her I came and Happy Birthday?" "Of course, and, good luck with the Grammies!" He smiled, "thank you very much!" And he walked off and couldn't wait to tell everyone.
He reached home at around 11:00 and the whole family was waiting in the living room. Taylor had a scowl on his face, like the one in the Teen People photo shoot. He has his arms crossed along with their mother and father. Zac was looking away and the other little kids were playing with toys. "Where were you? And why are you smiling? Are you looking forward to being punished?" his Dad demanded. Isaac started laughing, "I'm 18, you can't punish me! And second of all they found her a heart! She's fine, they just finished the surgery!" Everyone's facial expressions changed. Taylor smiled, Zac started jumping up and down, and their parents were grinning, "oh that's wonderful!" And their mother got up and hugged him. His father looked relieved, "oh thank God." And all of them sighed with relief and Ike couldn't be happier.
