Chapter 33

“Ok, we are so grounded that our children are going to be grounded.” Taylor grumbled under his breath. “No kidding, thanks Isaac.” Zac said ready to smack his brother. “You guys, we have never been punished before. Once is not going to kill us.” “Ok true, but if the media gets . . .” “It’s not, chill, calm you guys. We’ll live. It’s just like us traveling for concerts and promotional. We don’t get to do anything fun and it is pure work, work, and work even more. We are used to this.” The other two didn’t say anything. “Yeah you’re right. But since we aren’t doing anything let’s practice.” They grabbed their instruments and started working on their songs already and some new ones. Isaac started to drift in his own little world. He was so used to playing these songs that he didn’t even have to think any more. It just came naturally. He started to think of Sarah. How he was going to get her back. Maybe he just would wait for her to come to him. But was afraid that was never going to happen. Is she even worth it? He thought so but than thought of Micky. He did like her, just not like that. She was more of a rebound girlfriend. But he had fallen for her. But there was another he was starting to like, Kendall. Now his mind went to debating to ask her out. What if Sarah told her everything? He was sure she had, but would she now hate him? She shouldn’t because after all it WAS Sarah’s fault to begin with. “Hey Ike.” He ignored it and kept playing. “IKE!” He was snapped back into reality, “what?” “We are off Thinking of You. We’re starting the new one.” “Oh, yeah, ok sorry. I’m sort of out of it.” “No kidding.” And he started the new one. He grabbed the lyrics off one of the stands and since this is his song he started singing. He hoped maybe that this song would be the one to bring Sarah back to him. He still couldn’t believe that his little brother had worked on this. It was all his idea.

Sarah stood up, “are you sure?” “I don’t know.” “What do you mean?” Cass looked away from her again. “I didn’t tell ANYONE this. It’s so embarrassing.” “What?” Sarah said sitting back down hoping that no one tries to come in. “About a week after I came back a bunch of my friends and I got together to go to a club. I really didn’t want to go since it was in a grungy area of Detroit. Off Martin Luther Kind Blvd. No one wanted to leave with me so I decided to leave alone. I tried to hail a cab but failed. So I decided to walk to Henry Ford Hospital to use their phone. Halfway there I could sense something strange and all of a sudden I was grabbed from behind and . . . and . . . and . . .” She didn’t have to finish because Sarah figured it out. “Cassandra! Why didn’t you tell anyone?” She started shaking, “I don’t know. Shame I guess. I went to the hospital, got the tests done, no diseases. I was so grateful for that . . .that . . . that I never even thought of having a pregnancy test done. Considering on both sides of my family that having children has been rather difficult I thought I inherited that too so I wasn’t too concerned. I just kept hoping more and more that my period would start and this whole nightmare would be over. That way when the guys came here I could tell JC. I mean Sarah, even though I’m not his I wanted him to be the first you know?” (People, I don’t know that much about JC. I’m probably wrong but work with me here) “Yes, I know.” Sarah said and she put her head in her hands and figuring out what she could possibly say. “But it was a week late so I took the test and it was the worst 3 minutes of my life. I mean, I guess it’s POSSIBLE it’s not his but . . .” “You just said that you had never done that though.” “I haven’t, but that doesn’t mean we don’t fool around.” Sarah didn’t even want to hear that word thinking of that’s what killed her and Isaac. “Ok, but what are the chances are that it IS his?” “I don’t know, pretty damn slim.” “Cass, I know that he’ll understand. Are you ok?” “Am I ok? Oh hell yeah, I was fucking violated. I’m just dandy! The guy I love more than life itself probably hates me, not to mention all those people out there.” “They do not hate you. To tell you the truth they are probably relieved that JC isn’t getting married.” Sarah said smiling hoping to add some little bit of humor to the situation. It didn’t help. “How am I going to tell him? Maybe I shouldn’t and tell him I just don’t love him like that anymore.” “No, don’t lie to him, tell him the truth.” “What for? I’m going to break his heart either way!” “If so that’s his problem. He should deal with it, what happened wasn’t your fault.” “YES IS WAS DAMN IT! I SHOULD HAVE STAYED AT THE CLUB!” Sarah didn’t say anything, “Are you going to have the kid?” “Excuse me?” “Do you want to have the child.” “No,” Cass said, “Are you going to have it?” “Yes,” she said gnawing at her nails and knuckles. “Why?” “I don’t know. It’s not the kid’s fault.” “You are only about a month or so along aren’t you?” “Yes, I’m still in the first trimester.” “Well, if you and JC change your mind you still have time to, you know, get rid of it.” “I don’t know if I could.” Sarah really didn’t know what to say, after all what could she say? Sarah leaned in and hugged her, “it’s not ok. But I’m here, and I know the guys are here for you, and so is Micky.” Cassandra just hugged her and cried. “I know, and Micky is probably wondering what is going on.”

Micky sat at home, she was watching the concert live on Pay-per-View. She could not believe what she had just seen. “Cass didn’t just do what I thought she did.” She said aloud. A couple of her friends were over and they had their popcorn filled mouths hanging open. “Oh God, yes she did.” One of her friends managed to choke out. She stared at the phone praying for it to ring and it being her cousin. The concert had about a half an hour left. Micky’s close friends knew about her cousin dating JC and her dating Isaac. Whenever she thought about Isaac her heart fluttered. She was going to call Sarah see if she was watching. She knew she didn’t like her but tried. True she was out for Isaac, but who wasn’t? It’s not fair that she got to grow up with them. It’s only fair that someone else got a chance! Micky tried to reason with herself and not sound obnoxious and selfish. Even though she was trying to steal Isaac away she wanted Sarah on good terms with her. Sarah really was nice. She picked up the phone to call her, it rang a couple of times and finally someone male picked up the telephone. “Hello? Is Sarah there?” “I’m sorry, she’s with a couple of friends in Detroit. She went to go to some concert there.” Micky sucked in. “Thank you.” And she hung up the phone stunned. Why was Sarah there with her FRIENDS and Cassandra didn’t invite her?”
