Sarah woke up early and stretched. She looked at the clock. “OH CRAP!” And she jumped out of bed and into the shower. She promised Ike that she would go over there before they left. He was going to pick her up and take her back to their house. And from there she said since it was going to be a nice day out she would walk back home.
She pulled her hair up in a ponytail and finished slipping her feet into a pair of Doc Martin sandals. She heard a car horn honk. She quickly walked down the stairs and walked over to the car. “Hey Ike!” And leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. “Hey! Are you having an ok time finding your dress.” “Yes, I am as a matter of fact.” “Good, because here you go.” And he handed her a rather thick envelope.
They reached the Hanson’s house and she walked inside. She had never seen their new one and this was the first time. Zac and Avery were showing her all the bedrooms and other parts of the house. She promised them she’d come over once and a while and check on the house. Wicket was staying with some friends a couple of blocks away. She would come over up until the day she came out for the MTV awards.
“Bye!” And she hugged all of them. Walker and Diana were tending to the littler children and she was saying good bye to the three oldest. “Bye Sarah!” And Zac hugged her and walked to the car. “See yea Zac!” Smiling Taylor came up behind her and hugged her. “Adios Sarah.” “Bye Taylor, I’ll see you in a week or so!” He smiled and kissed her cheek and walked to the car. She pushed the key to the house and the codes to the alarms deeper in her pockets and Isaac came up and hugged her tightly. “I’ll see you really soon!” “I know! I can’t wait!” And she kissed him and he went over to the car. “Bye you guys!” And they pulled out and she walked back into their house to wash some of the breakfast dishes that got forgotten about and then she would leave to the fabric store to get what she needed.
She finished up when she heard the phone ring. She walked over to the caller ID and checked. It was an out of area and gave a number. It wasn’t their area code at all. She was debating to answer it and figured she would. “Hello,” There was no sound and finally a girl spoke up, “May we please speak to Zac?” That’s when she heard some other girls in the background and figured out what was going on. “I’m sorry, he’s not home right now. Can I take a message?” She didn’t say anything at first so Sarah figured she would say something. “Who is this anyway?” “Jennie!” “Jennie, they appreciate their fans but please do not call this number. But I will tell him you called.” “Wait, I won’t but would you take my number, give it to him, and tell him to call me please.” Sarah sighed, “sure. And she took down the number and hung up.
She made sure and went through the whole house and made sure that all the windows and doors were locked. And then was going to get ready to set the alarms. She walked through the upstairs and made sure all the windows were shut. She reached the girls’, the boys’, and finally made her way to Ike, Tay, and Zac’s room. She first went into Zac’s and checked the window and then left. She moved over to Ike’s and double-checked his. She then made her way over to Taylor’s room.
She opened the door and walked over to the window. She tightened it and then locked it. She turned around to his bed. She shook her head and threw the pillows on the floor. He forgot to make his bed before they left and she started to make it for him. She went to the foot of the bed and tucked his sheets under. While she was sliding her hand underneath the mattress she felt her finger get a deep paper cut. “OUCH!” She screamed and pulled her hand back and put her bloody finger in her mouth.
Wondering what caused her this cut she left to their bathroom to put a Band-Aid on her finger and she walked back to Taylor’s room.
She lifted the mattress and looked under. Underneath was an orange spiral notebook. She shook her head, assuming it was a “lost” school notebook. She pulled it out and accidentally dropped it because of her wrapped finger. “Shoot.” And she flipped it over to shut it until she noticed her name on the page underlined.
She shut the notebook and didn’t even blink. She didn’t know what to think. She stood up and walked over to the phone tempted to call Isaac and say she couldn’t make it. She didn’t know what to do. She knew she shouldn’t have read the notebook. And she knew she was going to have to eventually tell him she did. But she closed her eyes and cringed this was going to be a mess. A complete, utter, and total disaster.
