I have a lot of ideas, but that is all they would be if I did not have Cathy Knudtson to bring them to life. There are no words to say how much I think of her, or what she means to me and my family. One thing I do know, she was sent by God. All I can says is, Thank you Cathy. Joe (Papaw) Anderson This painting is about some of the things Mr. William loved with all his heart, windmills, the river (he loved to fish) old wooden bridges, a blue sky, a white shirt, khaki pants, white shoes and his dog Freddy Painting by William Vance Nichols of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina When the day is done, the last visitor has gone, that's when the Angels play Two weeks after Mr. William went home to be with God, I dreamed I flew his invention to the gates of Heaven. There I asked a man if he knew Mr. William, he said "Sure, I will get him for you." When Mr. William saw me he really chewed me out. "Papaw, you are not supposed to be here, you had better leave before God sees you. Now go back and take care of my family and do not come back till God tells you you can." This is when I believe Mr. William gave me this message for his family. It was used at his Mommy's wedding. That night after I got out of bed I feel like Mr. William was right there in my bedroom. Mr. William and His Papaw (Pre-transplant) Papaw has given Mr. William a toy frog that sings and dances This is the photo in my collection that means the most. This is Mr. William and his Papaw. We loved each other with all our hearts. This photo was buried with Mr. William. Each night I kiss it and tell him goodnight and that he will always be in my heart and his memory will be with me as long as I live. What A Boy Needs There are some things that a boy needs, it's written up above. A big old mangy hound dog and a PawPaw that's to love. He needs some fish and tackle and a straw hat on his head He needs no more than jelly spread across some bread. He doesn't require a lot, simple things are what he needs, Like running barefoot through the rain and playing hide-n-seek. He needs his mom to do his clothes and make sure that he's clean And maybe throw a grandma in to sew up old torn jeans. He needs some time after meals so his teeth he'll floss. And he absolutely has to have some big old rocks to toss. He needs a favorite cousin, perhaps one or even two; Someone to keep him company whenever he feels blue. He needs some grass to run on and play a game of ball He needs some trees to shade him; and a place to fall. He needs some clouds above him all puffy white as snow And someone he can depend on no matter where he goes. These are the things a boy needs and should have every day. A boy should never, ever have to go away. But if God calls him and ask him to come on home, He needs to know that no matter what he's never alone. This is what a boy needs to carry in his heart; To know that no matter how far he roams He and Pawpaw will never Part. Written for Mr. William by Kathalise Martin
