Chapter Eleven -- Tender Love
"I'm going to have a press conference this afternoon, to announce that the engagement is cancelled, there's a mistake being made and Backstreet Boys will still be happy to be a part of Jive's family." Riven said.
"Thank you so much Mr. Riven." Nick shakes his hand.
"Wait a minute Lori..." Mr. Riven said.
"Yes Mr. Riven?" Lori asks.
"Would you like to be part of Jive Records' family?" Riven asks.
"I'm really happy you asked Mr. Riven, but I think I'll be more happy being a part of KBNHA Records." Lori smiles and leaves the room with Nick.
"Uncle... what were you thinking?" Taylor asks angrily.
"Taylor, it's time for you to learn what true love is, and there's another thing you have to realize, in this world, you can never get anything you want..." Riven said.
FOUR MONTHS LATER
Nick just came back from the tour, he immediately head to Lori's house, but instead of Lori answering the door, it is Jennifer.
"Hey Jen... where's Lori?" Nick asks.
"She's in her room... she's really nervous Nick..." Jennifer said.
"Nervous about what?" Nick asks.
"Well, in case you don't know, her video premiers on TRL yesterday, she is nervous because TRL is on soon and she just wanna know what number her video will debut at." Jennifer answers.
"Thanks Jen..." Nick said as he walks up to Lori's room.
KNOCK KNOCK
"Come in, the door is not locked..." Lori said.
"Hey baby..." Nick said as he walks towards Lori.
"Nick? You're back!" Lori throws herself into his arms.
"Yes... I didn't go home yet... I head straight here... Lori, let's watch TRL together..." Nick holds her as they sit down.
"How you know about TRL and stuff?" Lori asks.
"Jen told me... besides, I never get a chance to watch your first video yet..." Nick said.
"I don't even know if it's in the top 10 list for you to see..." Lori sighs.
TRL started, Lori's video is not up yet, it's already the countdown to #2, which belongs to the Backstreet Boys.
"Man... we're at number 2..." Nick said.
"It's over... I told you I won't make the top 10." Lori said, leaning her head on Nick's shoulder.
"Hey Lori... the countdown isn't over yet..."
"It's hopeless..." Lori said.
<That was Backstreet Boys at number 2.> Carson Daly said. <And now it's the number 1 video pick for the day... it's amazing how this video make all the way to number 1... it's Lori first video "Tender Love" debut on Number 1, enjoy.>
"See... I told you." Nick kisses Lori. They watch the video together. "You look beautiful in there Lori..."
After they watch the video, Nick says, "Lori... I'll go home and unpack now... I'll come pick you up tomorrow morning at 10, I've got a place to show you."
"Do you need help on unpacking, I can go with you..." Lori offers.
"No it's okay... I'm gonna be fine.. I'll see you tomorrow Lori."
"Alright... bye." Lori kisses Nick.
THE NEXT MORNING -- 10:35 AM
"There you go..." Nick said as he parks his car.
"Hmm... Nick, this is the place you wanna show me? It's your house..." Lori said.
"Well, you'll see... come on..." Nick opens the door.
"Oh my god!" Lori said.
