Chapter Six - The Right Beginning?
They had a great time together. Nick drives Lori home and walks her to the door.
"So, do you want to go out again some time?" Nick asks.
"yea... I will love to." Lori said. "Good night Nick." Lori opens the door and pushes it open.
"Hold on Lori..." Nick takes hold of her hand.
"Yes?"
"There's something I wanna do again and I hope you won't get mad at me." Nick takes Lori close to him and kisses her again.
Lori is shocked when Nick does that, but later, she closes her eyes and kisses him back. "I won't get mad at you for that." Lori said as their lips depart.
"Wow... that's unexpected... Good night Lori." Lori smiles.
"Nite." Lori said.
TWO MONTHS LATER - JIVE RECORDS MEETING ROOM
The Boys are having a meeting with their manage James.
"Boys, there's something that I'm asked to announce for you guys..." James said. "Nick, Jive's chairman Leon had asked you to get engaged with Taylor Vonde, his niece because she likes you."
"What? That's what he wants, but what about what I WANT?" Nick yelled.
"Calm down Nick... you know I can't do anything about it.... that's like a real powerful order." James said.
"And you want me to commit to a girl I don't even like?" Nick said. "I'm in love with someone else, what do you want me to do with Lori?"
"You're seeing Lori? Nick... you guys had just worked together for 3 days, she's like Taylor, someone you don't truly know yet... so it's not gonna be such a big problem..."
"So you're asking me to be irresponsible to who I love? We were together for the past two months!" Nick asks.
"Just remember that you're in a group Nick... I don't think you want the whole group to get in trouble either..." James said.
Without saying a word, Nick rushes to his car and drives back to his house.
THE NEXT DAY - 10:43 PM
"Have a seat Lori." Professor Beckham said, he is Lori's professor for her forensic chemistry class.
"Thanks Professor." Lori sits herself down.
"Well... you've done a great job on the final and so far on your studies on forensic chemistry." Beckham said.
"Thanks." Lori smiles.
"Here's something I want to ask you about. I'm gonna go over to England for a research project for the next three years and I'm asked to bring along with me 3 of my top research students. Lori, you're always the top 3 in my class and I would like to offer you this opportunity. What do you think?" Beckham asked.
"Professor Beckham, can you give me some time to think about it?" Lori asked.
"Sure..." Beckham replied. "Give me an answer as soon as possible."
"Okay, thanks professor." Lori replied.
"Lori... you've changed." Beckham said.
"What do you mean professor?" Lori asked with confusion.
"You've been working with me on my research for almost 2 years, based on what I observed, when you have an opportunity like this one, you must say yes immediately, but out of my expectation, you need to think about it this time... I know you realize that this is a very valuable opportunity... is there something that is keeping you here in United States?" Beckham asks.
"Maybe professor... or let me put it this way, for the past tw years, I've always thought that Forensic Chemistry is the most important thing in my life... but now I realized that there's something in my life that is more important than my studies... it's something I really need and I really want..." Lori answered, thinking about Nick.
