Chapter Four -- A Kiss To Remember
"That we're gonna do a kissing scene later?"
"Of course not... Nick, I'm surprised why you ask this question... I mean I'm an actress for this video and I'm supposed to do whatever the director asks me to." Lori smiles.
"I don't think of it this way... I mean this video is different, both you and Jennifer are not professional actresses or models, so I think kissing is not a 'usual' thing that you guys will do... that's why I wanna ask." Nick says.
"I see, my turn to question." Lori smiles. "Based on what Michael said, you had never have a kissing scene on videos before, why you agree to do it this time?"
"That's a tough question... I'm not sure either... maybe because you're special..." Lori blushes as Nick stands up and takes her hand, "Come on... it's our turn now."
Nick and Lori goes up to the set.
"Alright... this is gonna be a quick scene, Nick and Lori, you guys should be facing each other, once the music starts, Nick slowly kisses Lori..." Michael said. "Okay... 3, 2, 1 action."
As the music starts, Nick looks into Lori's eyes. Lori is attracted to Nick's beautiful blue eyes, she keeps staring at them as they get closer and closer to hers and finally, she feels Nick's warm lips on her. The wonderful kiss lasts for 15 seconds, both of them are enjoying the kiss with their eyes close until Michael stops the music, "Good job! It's a rap for Nick and Lori!"
Nick's lips slowly departs from Lori's, but both of them are still looking at each other. Both felt that the kiss is special somehow, but they walk away as if nothing special had happened.
Lori went home and spent the rest of the night thinking about the kiss. "Lori... why are you thinking about the kiss anyways... Nick kisses you because he was asked to..." Lori thinks to herself.
On the other hand, Nick is thinking quietly when AJ calls him.
<Wassup bro!> AJ said.
"Hey AJ..." Nick said.
<What are you doing right now?>
"Just thinking over something..." Nick said, thinking about the kiss when his fingers brush his own lips.
<Anyways... me and Howie are gonna go clubbing right now... wanna come?>
"Nah it's k AJ... I'll see ya tomorrow... have fun ya all." Nick said.
<Alright then... see ya!> AJ hangs up.
LAST DAY OF VIDEO SHOOT - KIMBO WAREHOUSE - 8:37 PM
"Nick and Lori, get over here..." Michael said. "Alright, this is gonna be the last scene for you guys... Nick and Lori get over to the set... I want you guys to slow dance to the music... easy one... alright..."
"k..." Nick and Lori answer. As the music starts, Lori puts her arms around Nick's neck and starts to dance. They are looking into each other's eyes while all of a sudden someone interrupted.
"Cut! Excuse me dear." Taylor Vonde pushes Lori away and put her own arms around Nick.
"Hey... what are you doing?" Nick said while he pushes Taylor away.
"Well... didn't anybody tell you that I'm gonna replace Lori in this video?" Taylor said coldly.
"Yea Nick... I just got notified." Michael said. "Taylor is the niece of Jive Records' chairman, she got appointed to this video... we can't do anything about it..."
"And you..." Taylor walks over to Lori, "You're done here honey... maybe you should consider... going home?" Taylor said with a cold smile.
Lori quietly walks away. She gives Michael a hug. "It's okay Michael, I understand, thanks."
Before she leaves the warehouse, someone takes hold of her hand.
"Lori..." Nick said.
"It's alright Nick. Getting the chance to work with you for a few days is all that matters. Thanks so much for picking me..." Lori smiles.
"But it's not fair..." Nick said.
"Nothing in this world is fair Nick, and besides, she got connections and I don't... maybe this role is more suitable for her... good night and take care." Lori said.
"Good night Lori... but remember this is not goodbye."
Lori smiles, gets into her car and drives away.
