Chapter Six -- Emotion
A WEEK LATER
Everything is back to normal, just seems like what it used to be. Lori has been thinking about Nick day and night. Throughout this week, she never heard from Nick at all. Also she didn't get the courage to call Nick herself.
It's 12:15 am, Lori is still sitting there, staring at her cell phone. Suki is in the kitchen, looking at Lori. Lori has been acting strangely this week. Everything seems to be different since herself came back from vacation. Suddenly Lori's cell phione rings, she immediately picks up the phone.
"Hello!" Lori said.
<Hey Lori, hope it's not too late to call, it's Jim.> It is the guy who has been liking Lori since a year ago. <I was wondering if you have time to go out tomorrow. I bought your favorite Backstreet Boys concert tickets for tomorrow night.>
"Jim... I don't wanna go, I'm really tired, sorry, bye." Lori said.
Within a few seconds, her phone rings again, Lori picks it up.
"Now what Jim? I told you I don't wanna go to the Backstreet Boys concert with you..." Lori said.
<You really don't wanna go Lori?>
"No... wait.... you don't sound like Jim..." Lori said.
<Of course... coz I'm not Jim... I know it's kinda late to call, but Lori, it's Nick.>
"Oh... Nick? Oh gosh... I'm so sorry, I don't mean to yell at you..." At the same time, Suki looks over when she heard Lori saying "Nick."
<Who's Jim? I'm guessing he's a guy that likes you. Hey he bought tickets to go to our show... you don't wanna go?> Nick asks, smiling.
"Yea... I wanna go to the concert, only not with him..." Lori answers.
<Alright then... that's good... you wanna go with me then?> Nick asks.
"You're funny Nick. I'm gonna go watch, but you're the one performing onstage."
<Yup... but I'll have a special seat for you.> Nick says.
"Really? Oh my god... thanks so much Nick." Lori says.
<Okay... I'll send someone to give you a pass tomorrow morning... don't lost that pass, k?> Nick says.
"Okay... thanks!" Lori smiles.
They continue to talk on the phone until 3 in the morning. Lori then fell asleep on the couch. When she wakes up, it's already 7 in the morning. Suki comes out from her room.
"Lori? You slept here last night?" Suki asks.
"Yes I did. I was on the phone til 3..." Lori yawns.
"Gosh... oh yea... and Jim said he don't wanna waste the tickets, he told me to ask you to go."
"Suki... just tell him I've got tickets on my own... I don't wanna go with him."
"But Lori..."
"Or Suki, you can go with him... only if u want to... that way he won't waste his tickets then." Lori suggests.
"Alright then! I wanna go for such a long time, and now I have free tickets, thanks Lori!"
"Suki.. it's k... you're welcome!"
