Chapter Five -- Dance With Me
"Whew! There are so many people insdie. My aunt didn't come yet. That's good." Nick says.
"Yea..."
"So Lori... can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"What exactly happened in that wedding party? It's okay if you don't wanna tell me." Nick says.
"It's okay Nick. Well... the groom Jeffen was my ex-boyfriend and the bride Amanda used to be my best friend. Somehow they got together and I found out about it... I didn't find out about it until I found them kissing..." Lori has tears in her eyes.
"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to ask..." Nick says. Before Lori says anything, Nick's aunt found Nick and interrupted them.
"Nickolas there you are!" Nick's aunt shouts, she has brought a girl with her.
"Hi aunt..."
"Nickolas, this is Nicole. Oh my god... you guys even have matching names!"
"Hi Nicole. And let me introduce you guys. Aunt, Nicole, this is Lori, my girlfriend."
Nick's aunts then whispers into Nick's ears. "Are you serious about this one? I mean I wanna introduce Nicole to you." But in fact, she wasn't really whispering... both Lori and Nicole can hear her.
"I'm real serious about this one..." Nick answers his aunt while looking into Lori's eyes, looking really serious.
Lori blushes immediately. Without further talking, Nick asks Lori to go dance. When they arrives to the dance floor, Nick slowly puts his arms around Lori's waist and Lori puts her arms around his neck. They are slow dancing to the music. Lori knows her face is really red and she feels really hot. She never thought that she can get so close to Nick Carter, not mentioning slow dancing with him. Nick is totally looking into her eyes while they were dancing. They had a really good time. The party ends at 12 and Nick gives Lori a ride home. Once they arrive, Nick walks Lori to her door.
"Thanks Nick. I had a great time tonight." Lori said.
"Thanks to you too Lori. So... goodbye Lori and good night." Nick says.
"Don't really know when I can see you guys again huh?" Lori smiles.
"You will see us again, especially me in particular, nite Lori." Nick gets in the car and drives away.
Lori enters her house. She was recalling what Nick just said, that they will see each other again and him in particular. She is on her way to her room, thinking to herself, not even realizing someone is in the house.
"Lori! I'm back!" Suki jumps right in front of Lori.
"Oh hey Suki... wassup? you're back!" Lori gives Suki a hug.
"Wow... you're so dressed up today... hey who was that just giving you a ride home?" Suki says with a wicked smile.
"Nick." Lori answers naturally.
"Since when you know a guy name Nick?" Suki asks.
"Remember I told you about a girl I helped out on the highway?"
"Yea..." Suki answers.
"Her brother helped me out at Amanda's wedding party by pretending to be my boyfriend. And it's real cool coz you know who he is?" Lori says.
"Who?" Suki asks.
"Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys! I went to his sister's birthday party just now."
"Lori are you okay? I didn't know you are that obsessed with Backstreet Boys." Suki says as she puts her hand on Lori's forehead, checking on her temperature.
"What... you don't trust me?" Lori asks, she knows it's quite hard for people to believe that she knows Nick.
"Well, you're gonna tell me that guy's true name eventually... nite Lori." Suki gives Lori a hug.
"Okay... nite Suki." Lori says.
