Chapter Four -- A Favor
As they arrive at Lori's house, Lori says thanks and get off the car.
"Lori..." Nick says as Lori walks towards the front door, "Can I have your phone number?"
"Sure..." Lori says as she turns around... "Can I borrow your cell phone for a sec?"
Nick hands Lori his cell phone. She press in her own phone number into Nick's cell phone.
"There you go..." Lori said. "Bye Nick!"
Just as Lori turns around, her cell phone rings.
<Now you know mine, it should show on your caller-ID.> Nick says on the phone.
Lori turns around and smiles at Nick. "Goodnight Nick."
"Goodnight Lori."
NEXT DAY
"Hello?" Lori picks up her cell phone during her break.
<Hi Lori!!!> Suki said.
"Suki... thanks for calling from your VACATION!" Lori said.
<Come on Lori... your vacation is just 6 months away.> Suki said.
"Alright... you know how long 6 months is... you don't understand how busy I am..." Lori said, exhausted.
<Coz you're in the ER... that's why... hey how was Amanda's wedding?> Suki asked.
"Everything's cool..." Lori says with a smile on her face, remembering how Nick helped her out.
<Tell me about it...> Suki says. Just as Lori is about to start, someone is calling in.
"Suki... someone is on the other line... I'll tell you about it when you come back, okay?"
<k... bye Lori.> Suki hangs up.
"Hello?" Lori picks up the other line.
<Hi Lori... this is Nick.> He says.
"Hi... wassup Nick?" Lori blushes.
<Well... tomorrow is BJ's birthday party... I wanna invite you, you know, to thank you for helping BJ... BJ wants you to come too... do you have time tomorrow night?> Nick asks.
"Oh yes... I have the day off tomorrow. So what time is the party?" Lori asks.
<It's gonna start at 7, people will start coming at 5...> Nick says.
"Oh okay... where is it?" Lori asks.
<It's in my house... hmm... how bout I'll pick you up, coz it's kinda hard to get to my house...> Nick says.
"Sure... thanks so much."
<I'll pick you up at 4:30 then, okay?>
"Okay... thanks Nick."
<So... what are you doing rite now Lori? Am I bothering you?> Nick asks.
"No... of course not... I'm on my break rite now..." Lori answers.
<I see... I guess you need rest... your job is so busy... I'll see you tomorrow Lori... bye!> Nick says.
"Bye Nick!" Lori hangs up with a smile on her face.
NEXT DAY - 4:23 pm
Lori is all ready to go. She's wearing a long black dress. Then she hears the ringing of the door bell, she walks over and opens the door.
"Hi Lori... you look beautiful tonight..." Nick says.
"Thanks Nick." Lori says.
"You ready to go now?"
"Yea... sure... let me go get my bag." Lori says.
They walk towards Nick's car.
Nick opens the car door for her. And then he gets in, he starts the car.
"I think the way we met is quite interesting..." Nick starts a conversation.
"Well ya, I never thought I'll meet you in person..." Lori says.
"So... I was just wondering... you're a big Backstreet fan?" Nick asks.
"Yes... since middle school... I'm in college now." Lori answers.
"You're working at the ER..that's impressive."
"Yea... I'm doing my intership. It's quite busy over there." Lori says.
The conversation begins. Nick and Lori are talking like they had knew each other for a long time. Once they arrived, Nick speaks up again.
"Lori... I wanna ask you a favor..."
"Sure..."
"My aunt is going to introduce a girl to me, but I hate meeting girls this way... you mind helping me... I mean"
"To pretend to be your girlfriend?" Lori asks.
"Yea.. can you?" Nick blushes.
"Sure... you've helped me last time."
They got out of the car. Lori then put her arm around Nick's as they enter his house. Nick brought Lori to the deck after she said hi to BJ.
