I Don't Get Paid Enough!

I am a counselor during the summer months with the Park Program at Reeves Community Center. The program houses 80-90 kids. We split them into two groups, approximately 40 to Riverside Park and 40 to Westwood Park. We go to the parks daily and play games from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Then, we return to Reeves from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. to swim. We take the kids on field trips to various parks in the surrounding area every other Friday. It's an exhausting occupation, but a ton of fun!

This picture was taken my first summer working at Reeves. This is me and Megan Spurlin, one of my co-workers. Gotta love those mustard-yellow shirts!

This picture was taken the last day of my second summer working at Reeves. These are just a few of my favorite kids, sucking up for the camera!

This is me, Anthony(in my lap), and Kolte. Anthony says he's my boyfriend. He even gave me a ring!

This picture was taken in my room. This is Abby, my favorite summer kid. She came home with me one night for a sleepover. Isn't she sweet?

Our program runs from the first of June until the middle of August. When we go back to school, I work for an Afterschool Daycare at Reeves Community Center. We house kids grades K-8. We have a homework helper room, as well as games in the gym and racquetball courts. As frustrating as they can be, I love kids.
