Spiritual Stone of Forest - Kokiri Emerald
The game starts with Link at his house. Go out the door to Kokiri Forest. If this your first time playing, you'll want to explore the forest a bit. You find that there is an entrance blocked by a dude criticizing you because you don't have a sword or shield. Well, let's show him!
First to get the sword. Follow the little path from Link's house and bear left, then go up a little slope. You'll see a bunch of little fences. Cross through them to the end and you'll see a little hole in the wall. Go up to it and press A to crawl in. You'll see a bunch of little skinny halls; turn left and wait. You'll see a huge rolling stone. If you don't avoid it, you'll get flattened by it. Once it rolls by, follow it around the first corner and to the end of the hall, then turn right. There'll be a big chest, go up to it and open it. Inside is the sword! Equip it by pressing the Start button, flip through the screens until you see a picture of Link and articles of clothing. Highlight the Kokiri Sword and press A. Turn around, wait for the stone, and follow it back to where you were. You'll see a bush with a rupee by it. Get the rupee, you'll need it. (Also, if you slash bushes, there will sometimes be goodies inside.) There is also a blue rupee and bush if you take the right before the area with the sword chest.
Okay, now to get the shield. Look around the Forest for a little building
with a red roof, that's the store where you can buy the shield. But first, you need to get
40 rupees. There's a bunch of places you can get rupees:
Once you have the shield and the sword, go back to the little dude that was dissing you for not having the appropriate equipment before. He'll still be rude, but he'll let you through. Once in there, you'll have your first encounter with enemies! Agh! :) They're Deku Babas, just slash them with your sword. When you kill them, they'll turn into Deku Sticks!! Be sure to equip them, you'll need them later on. Continue on and you'll meet the Great Deku Tree. He will tell you how there's a growing evil in the land, that's what is causing your nightmares. Even know, he has been cursed, and he needs your help to break the curse. Apparently the curse is in his tummy, because he opens his mouth and you're supposed to just walk right on in. (I know, EWWW! But once in there, the REAL adventure begins!)
Once you're in the Deku Tree, you'll see three more mutant plant things. Kill them, and they give you Deku Nuts, nuts that you can throw at enemies to stun them. Once they're dead, climb up the ladder or the vines. Walk up the spiral walkway and you'll come across some vines with spiders, called Skullwalltulas, on them. DO NOT CLIMB UP THE VINES! The spiders, even if you don't touch them, will charge you and hurt you. But you can open the treasure chest under the vines and get the map! Continue up the spiral walkway and you'll see a door. Stand next to the door and press A to enter. Inside the room is a little bush dude, a Deku Scrub, who will spit nuts at you. All you do is Z-target him and use your shield when he shoots at you. Your shield will deflect the nut, bounce back, and hit him. Once he's hit, he'll hop around the room, so you'll have to run to catch him. Then he'll give you a clue: When you jump off a high cliff, if you hold the joystick forward, you will roll on the ground when you land and won't get hurt from the fall. Although, he cannot guarantee that it'll work if the cliff is really, REALLY high. Then he'll scamper away and the next door will open. In the next room, there is a floating stone. (How it's floating, I know not.) Jump on the floating stone, then immediately jump to the ledge on the other side. On that platform is another treasure chest. Open it to reveal the Fairy Slingshot! Yay! :) Now you can shoot things that are far away. To get back to the door (since the floating platform has ceased to float), look above the door and you will see part of a ladder. Press Z to Z-target it, then shot it with your slingshot and it will fall down, enabling you to climb up it to the door. Go through the doors, back to the main room. You can now shot the Skullwalltulas on the vines with your slingshot! But watch out, there are three Skullwalltulas, make sure you get them all. Once they're all gone, climb up the wall and to the side. (It doesn't matter which side, it goes in a circle.) Go around the circular platform until you find another door. Go in it, and you'll see a switch to the right. Step on it and three platforms will rise. Jump quickly across the two in front of you. On the other side of the room is a big treasure chest, open it and get the compass inside. By this time, the platforms should have gone down again. Just cross the floor, climb up the vines on the side and step on the switch again. Jump to the platform in front of you, then the one to the left. Jump on the ledge to the left, but watch out for a Skulltula hanging in the middle. There's a little chest with a heart in it. On the wall is a Gold Skulltula. These are different. Slash him with your sword and you’ll get a token. These will come in handy later. Now jump off the ledge and climb up the vines again. Get out a Deku Stick, go to the lit torch, and light the stick simply by touching it to the fire. Then walk to the unlit torch, and light it. The door will open. Walk out and find one of the ledges towards the center of the room that a Giant Skulltula guards. Kill the Skulltula, obviously, and jump off the edge, but don't press forward. You should land on the spider webs, making them break, and letting you drop to the bottom. (Don't worry, you land safely in water.) Swim to the right and climb on the platform. Look back at the place you just fell from. On the vines is another Gold Skulltula. Use your slingshot to shoot the Gold Skulltula twice and get the token. Notice that there is an area of shallow water near a barred hole. On the bars is another Gold skulltula. Defeat him, then jump from the platform to reach the token (you may have to do a jump attack). Return to the platform and step on the switch to light the gold torch and burn away spider webs. By the gold torch, there’s a small chest with a heart filler in it. Light a Deku Strick from the torch and use the shallow water to jump to the platforms on the other side of the vines. Run and light the spider webs at the end. Once they're burned away, a door is revealed. Go through the door and find Scrub. Just defeated it like you did the other, by Z-targeting and bouncing the nuts off your shield. It will then tell you the order in which you're to defeat the upcoming Scrubs: 2, 3, 1. Walk to the next door and see that there is a silver eye above the door. Pull out your slingshot and shoot it to unbar the door. In the next room is a pool of water, a floating platform, and a spiky thing that will poke holes in you if you touch it. (Well, not literally >:) ) Swim directly under the spiky thing, to the left. Press A to dive down and hit the underwater switch. The water level will be lowered, so get out of the water, then hop on the platform floating in the water. Now that the water level is lowered, you can ride the platform under the spiky thing without being harmed. Act quickly, because after awhile the water level will rise to where it was before. If this happens, just hit the underwater switch and try again. Jump off the platform when you get to the other side. Kill the Skulltula, then move the block as far right as it will go, using A. Climb on the block and up to the higher platform, then through in the door. Grab another Deku Stick and light all the torches. Go in the door and look out for a Skulltula hiding up high. Once that's dead, look at the ceiling in the main room. There are 3 little Gohma eggs. You can either shoot them now, or just avoid them by staying out of the center of the room, or kill them when the land. If you choose to fight the Gohma Larvae, the can defeat them using your sword or slingshot. When you're ready to continue, take a Deku stick, light it, then light the spiderwebs to the right. Crawl in the hole and you'll emerge in the room you were before, when you fell from the spider webs, except now you're on a platform you couldn't reach before. To the left is a block. Push it all the way into the water. Then jump from the block, to the platform with the gold torch and light yet another Deku stick. Jump back on the block, and on the platform. Then roll on the hole of spider webs with your lit stick and fall into the hole. (Don't worry, yet again you'll land safely in water.) Here is where the "2, 3, 1 scrubs" comes in. As the clue implies, kill the one in the middle first, then to the right, then to the left. But be quick, when you kill the last one, you'll need to catch it like a regular Scrub. Then you can go into the dungeon boss's chamber... (owwww, creepy huh?)
If you need to restock on supplies, stay to the edge of the circular room and there are different things in plants. Once you're ready to battle either look the beast only the ceiling C-Up, or go to the middle of the room. The huge thing look at you evilly, then it's battle time!! Meet Queen Gohma, Parasitic Armored Arachnid. She's going to jump down from her spot in the ceiling and walk to you. Then she'll look up, when she does this, get your slingshot ready. When she looks back down at you, her eye will be a dark red. When her eye is red like this, shot it and she'll be stunned for a few seconds. While she's stunned, slash her with your sword like crazy. You'll probably have to do this a few times. After awhile, she'll climb back to the ceiling. Keep her Z-targeted because her eye is red again up there. If you can get her eye, she'll fall down again and you can beat her up again. If not, she'll lay eggs of little Gohmas that you have to kill before she comes back down. She'll jump back down after that and just keep shooting and slashing at her, she'll drop dead. She'll spaz, disintegrate, and leave a heart. Hearts are great! Now you can take more damage without dying. Collect the heart and walk into the blue light. YOU'VE DEAFEATED GOHMA!!! YAY!!
You'll land in front of the Great Deku Tree who will tell you about how it was a man from the dessert that cursed him, that the man wanted to get to the Triforce. Then he'll tell you Hyrule's creation legend. He'll give you the Spiritual Stone of Forest: Kokiri's Emerald!! YES!!! But after that, he dies. <:( But life must go on, as it does. (Or else the game would be pretty boring :) ) As the game continues, Link must find Princess Zelda!
