Do a Google or Yahoo! search for "chemtrails" and you're likely to turn up quite a list of interesting websites created by
persons with a seemingly tenuous grip on reality (can you say paranoid schizophrenic?). Okay, I'm not one of these guys.
I'm neither an alarmist nor a conspiracy theorist. I have no clue what its purpose might be but I've witnessed the chemtrail
phenomenon too many times to dismiss it as merely the product of an overactive imagination. Wikipedia gives a basic over-
view of chemtrails here. The incident that convinced me there was really something to this chemtrail thing occurred during
another trip to North Carolina several years ago. About 10:00 one morning I watched two jets flying a grid pattern in the
bright blue cloudless sky high above Bryson City. One plane was leaving parallel "smoke" trails running north and south
while the other created lines running east and west. The trails did not seem to dissipate the way that jet contrails normally
do. Instead they lingered and slowly spread. After watching for several minutes I went indoors and forgot about it. When I
emerged again around 1:00pm the entire sky was overcast with a thin white layer. I could still make out a few traces of the
original jet trails running through the otherwise uniform cover. I've discovered that sometimes I can identify a chemtrail
cloud cover by the way sunlight appears when shining through it. I've noticed that when looking at the sun through artificial
clouds, it has a slightly yellow-brown "greasy" cast to it. Sometimes there will also be a patch of light in the cloud cover a
little to one side of the sun. Or sometimes I've seen two patches, one on either side of the sun. These light patches have
faint bands of color visible in them similar to the color bands in a rainbow. Unlike the full spectrum of pure bright colors
displayed in a rainbow, however, I usually see only two or three anemic colors with the hues shifted distinctly toward
yellow-brown.

The sunset pictures I took on Bluff Mountain the evening of October 18, 2005 show what I have come to recognize as a
chemtrail (using the popular term - I have no idea what the stuff might be) sky. As I watched the setting sun I noticed a
large jet flying over leaving two dense, non-dissipating trails behind. The new trails were running parallel to several older,
regularly spaced trails that were beginning to spread across the sky overhead. I photographed that jet and less than
ten minutes later I photographed a different jet for comparison. Behind the second plane was a typical jet contrail that
