'Crush' By Jennifer Paige was playing and Jaymi was having the time of her life. Isaac was a great dancer and the two of them matched perfectly. She had spotted Kayla dancing with a few guys, but she didn't look as happy as Jaymi felt at that very moment.
"I'm thirsty!" Jaymi yelled to Isaac. She had to yell to be heard over the music.
"What?" Isaac yelled back. Instead of yelling again, Jaymi put her hand to her mouth and pretended like she was drinking. Isaac got the message and lead her over to the refreshment table. Surprisingly Isaac and Zac were being left alone. They were able to enjoy the dance without girls going mad over them. Jaymi grabbed a can of soda for her and Isaac and then handed him one. Jaymi felt someone tap her on the shoulder. She turned around and saw a girl that she sort of knew.
"Hi!" The girl shouted. Jaymi smiled.
"Hi.. great dance hey?" She asked her. The girl nodded, only her gaze was on Isaac. Jaymi soon noticed this and made a quick exit, dragging Isaac with her. They sat down at the table the group had reserved for themselves. C.J and Zac soon joined them, both puffing from dancing.
"This is great!" C.J shouted to them. Jaymi just nodded, not wanting to stuff up her voice from yelling so much. 'Crush' finished and 'Buses and Trains' by Bachelor Girl came on. Without a word, Jaymi grabbed Isaac's hand and pulled him out to the dance floor.
Taylor sighed, looked at the clock and groaned. The dance had been going for an hour and a half. 'Kayla's probably danced with heaps of guys by now'.... He thought. He couldn't bare to think about it so he turned on the T.V. It didn't help.
"She didn't want me there! she didn't want me there! she didn't want me there!" Taylor quietly told himself. He looked at the clock again. It was 7:30 pm. The dance had started at 6 pm. He turned the T.V up and flicked through the channels. After five minutes he looked at his watch again. "Right... that's it!" He jumped off the couch and went upstairs to his room. 45 minutes later he was back down stairs and he walked into the kitchen where his father sat at the table, reading the news paper.
"Uhh... Dad?" He said.
"Mmm?" Came Mr Hanson's voice from behind the paper.
"Are you like... umm.. really busy right now?". Mr Hanson looked up at his son.
"No... not really... why?" He said. Taylor grinned.
"Mind giving me a lift to the dance?"
Kayla sighed. Aerosmith's "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" had just started to play and teenagers all around her were pairing off. Kayla went over to the table and sat down.
"Hey Kayla wanna dance?" a cute boy asked. Kayla didn't know him but he obviously knew her.
"Uh, no thanks... I'm gonna sit this one out". The boy shrugged and walked away. Kayla sighed again and looked towards the front entrance to the hall. She then did a double take. "It can't be" She said to herself. But it was. It was Taylor. She watched him as he searched the room for her with his eye's. He then spotted her. Kayla stood up and waited while Taylor walked towards her. He had on a pair of white baggy jeans, black Doc Martins and a navy blue cotton button down shirt. He looked gorgeous. Taylor walked up to her and took her hand. Kayla walked with him out onto the dance floor and he pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her. Kayla put his arm's around him and pressed her body against his as the two of them swayed to the song. Kayla breathed in Taylor's cologne. She knew that things were going to be better between them from then on. The song finished and Kayla and Taylor broke apart. Taylor took both of Kayla's hands in his.
"I'm sorry Kayla... I love you" He whispered as "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls started to play. Kayla nodded.
"I love you to Taylor" she mouthed back. Taylor then leant forward and gave Kayla a quick kiss on her mouth and then the two of them walked, hand in hand, to the table where Isaac and Jaymi were sitting.
"TAYLOR! YOU CAME!" Jaymi squealed, jumping up to give Taylor a hug. Taylor laughed.
"Yeah, I came" He shouted, so he could be heard over the music.
"Zac, I don't know about this" C.J said as he lead her by the hand up a flight of stairs and down a deserted hallway.
"Oh lighten up C.J. I just wanna be alone with you for a little while." Zac said as he tried a classroom door. It was locked.
"But you know we aren't supposed to be up here. We'll be skinned alive if we're caught" C.J said.
"Since when have I obeyed rules?" Zac questioned her.
"Since never"
"There ya go!" Zac said as he tried another classroom door. This one was opened. He grinned at C.J and lead her inside. He closed the door.
"Ok, it's way to dark in here" C.J announced from somewhere near the blackboard. "Turn the lights on"
"No way... that's like screaming out 'I'M IN HERE! come and find me!' where are you?" Zac asked.
"Over here... follow my voice" C.J said. Soon Zac was sitting next to her on the floor. The two of them leaning against the wall. Zac put his arm around C.J's shoulders and then leant his head down and began to kiss her. Soon the two of them were kissing each other deeply. "Zac, I'm thirsty" C.J said once the two of them broke apart. "Maybe we should go back to the dance".
"No, you stay here and I'll go get us some drinks... I wont be long" Zac said getting up."Oh yeah... I Love you C.J" He said C.J sighed and then smiled.
"Ok.. I Love You to Zac... forever." she said. Zac walked out of the classroom and back to the dance hall. C.J got up after him and locked the door.
"Hey where you been?" Taylor asked as he spotted his younger brother.
"Tay! when did you get here?" Zac asked, avoiding Taylor's question.
"A while ago.. where's C.J?"
"Nowhere" Zac replied. He walked over to the refreshment table and grabbed two can's of soda. He turned around to leave again when there was a rumble on the ground. Then there was a loud bang and Zac clapped his hands over his ears to try to drown out the screams from people as the light's went out and the music stopped. The can's went crashing to the ground and soda spilled everywhere. Suddenly the lights came on and the High school principal made his way to the stage. He grabbed a microphone.
"Now now everyone calm down.. it was just a small earth tremor... nothing to worry about. So everyone relax and have a good time" He said and then stepped off the stage. The music started up again and Zac started to the door's so that he could get C.J to bring her back down. Suddenly he was pushed by a boy who was about Taylor's age.
"WATCH IT!" Zac yelled after him but the boy ignored him. He was running after a girl who was running towards the stage. Zac stopped and watched as the girl grabbed the same microphone the principal had just been using and instructed the D.J to stop the music. Loud groans of protest rang though out the teenagers when the music stopped for a second time.
"Listen people! there's a fire! DO YOU HEAR ME? YOU HAVE TO GET OUT! THERE'S A FIRE!" The girl screamed into the microphone.
