"Ike, honey, baby, sweetie, darling..." Jaymi said, making her voice all sugary. Isaac looked up from the paper work he was doing. Jaymi was on the couch, spread out watching a movie. She was bored like no ones business and she was starting to get annoyed with Isaac. She was still angry from the whole marriage thing, but she still loved Isaac and he wanted her to be with him for as long as possible when he was home.
"Mmmm, what?" He asked, looking back at the piece of paper in his hand.
"Could you pass me that bowl of pop-corn?" She asked, giving him a look he couldn't resist.
"But you're closer to it. It just on the coffee table.. can't you get it yourself? I really have to get this report done." He said, sounding slightly annoyed. Jaymi detected the annoyance in his voice and got up.
"Fine, I will get it myself! I just happen to have majorly swollen ankles and have to rest, but no, Jaymi's a- okay! she can get up, walk around, heck, anything you want at the mall? I thought about going for a jog. I don't think my ankles are big enough, and hey! if you're going to do something, might as well do it good and proper. None of that half hearted shit! No sir-ree, when Jaymi does something, she does it the right way!" Jaymi exclaimed. "Mustn't disturb my poor over worked Isaac now should I? I'm terribly sorry for making you give me just 2 minuets of your time.. If I'm going to be to much of a distraction I better leave don't you think? Maybe when you have some spare time you might even think about spending time with your pregnant girlfriend, or is that fiancée? You see, thats where I'm confussed.. oh, wait, you haven't asked me to marry you.. so I guess that makes me only your girlfriend!" She said, getting up from the couch and walked over to the front door. Before Isaac had a chance to say anything, Jaymi had slammed the door shut behind her. He then heard her car start up and roll down the drive way.
C.J looked up when she heard someone storm through the front door. The door slammed and then Jaymi came walking in. She flopped into a chair and then burst into tears. C.J instantly forgot about her own problems and moved over to Jaymi.
"I hate men!" Jaymi sobbed. C.J wrapped her arms around Jaymi and hugged her.
"Don't we all? What did Ike do?"
"Everything. I just want him to ask me to marry him... but he hasn't and I want to be married before the baby comes and before I'm to big to fit into a dress!"
"Tell him that Jay... or better yet... ask him yourself! I really don't know why you want to marry a Hanson jerk anyway." C.J said bitterly.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean it wont be long before Kayla comes in here crying over something Taylor has done."
"C.J... why are you talking like this? Did you have a fight with Zac?". C.J shook her head.
"We broke up" She whispered. Jaymi gasped.
"What? Why???"
"He got Amy pregnant... he slept with another girl and got her preganant" C.J said, without tears. She had none left to cry.
"He what? Zac did what?" Jaymi gasped. C.J shrugged.
"You heard me." She said. She couldn't bare to say it again. Jaymi sat in silence for a few minuets.
"Are you sure? I mean, did he admit it? or is it just a rumor going around?..have you talked to him about this? What does he have to say?" Jaymi couldn't believe what C.J had just told her.
"Yes, no, no it's not, yes I have and he tells me he didn't do it. The thing is, Amy told me herself! She said that he goes to her cuz she gives him what he wants and that he was getting sick of me becasue I wouldn't sleep with him" C.J answered.
"Have you really given him a chance to explain everything. I mean, Amy could be just saying it.. she may not even be pregnant! C.J, are you sure you have all the facts?" Jaymi asked, not wanting it to sound like she was siding with Zac.
"What? I can't believe I'm hearing this from you Jaymi, I thought you would understand! I thought you were my best friend!" C.J exclaimed, jumping up from the chair.
"C.J! I am your friend! I do understand.. but I'm Zac's friend to! don't forget that C.J.. I don't know everything so I can't fully believe it.. I'm not going to instantly hate Zac. I have to talk to him, find out his side of the story." Jaymi explained. C.J didn't want to hear it. The one person she thought would see it from her point of view would be Jaymi. But no, she was on Zac's side. She didn't give a fuck about C.J.
"Fine, go talk to Zac, talk to that cheating fuckwit scum! See if I god damn care!" C.J yelled and ran out the front door, slamming it behind her. Jaymi was left, sitting on the chair, completely stunned. C.J had never yelled at her. Suddenly Jaymi burst into a fresh set of tears. She was having a shit of a day.
C.J was walking. She didn't know where to, but she knew where she was. She was in the city of Tulsa. She couldn't beleive Jaymi was on Zac's side. She didn't think Zac had done it. C.J had lost her boyfriend and best friend all in the time span of two days. Keep going C.J, see if you can lose everything else before the end of the week!. Her life was going down the drain.
"They probably wouldn't care if I was alive or not.. maybe I should have never come back" C.J mumbled to herself. Suddenly C.J stopped infront of a interstate bus stop. "Half Price to Colorado this week only!" Before C.J knew what she was doing, she walked inside and up to the counter.
"Can I help you?" Asked an older, middle aged woman with the beginnings of a moustache. C.J cleared her throat.
"Um, well, yes, you see I want a ticket to Colorado please." She said. The woman raised an eyebrow.
"And how old are you dear?"
"16" C.J answered.
"You need a parent or legal gardian to buy the ticket, you're only still a minor"
"Oh, but I don't have any.. My Mom is in Colorado and she's all I have left.. it's her birthday next week and it will be her last one before she dies.. I really want to spend it with her. It would mean the world to both her and I.." C.J lied. She could see the womans hard face soften.
"Oh ok, but don't tell anyone.. I'll get in big trouble for this. The bus leaves on Sunday afternoon at 3 pm. Here. Don't be late.. the bus leaves at 3 and no later. That'll be $50 please.". C.J took in the details carefully. She took out her purse and cursed herself. She only had $25 with her. She pulled the money out and handed it over.
"Would it be possible to give you the other half on Sunday.. I only have $25.." She asked uncertainly. The woman smiled.
"That will be fine. Here's your ticket." She said and handed over the small envelope. C.J grasped it in her hands and smiled.
"Thanks!" She said and walked back out to the street. She placed the ticket in her back pocket and headed for the Wilsons.
