Chapter Two

Zac watched as his friend Jay rolled a joint, lit it and then began to smoke it. "Hey man... give me some of that" Zac demanded, holding out his hand. Jay shook his head.

"No way. I paid good money for this. Get your own" Jay said. Zac looked around the room he was sitting in. He and his friends were at a party and Zac had no idea who's house he was in. The time was about 12 am. All he knew was that the music was loud and the dope was good, so he stayed. "Hey, check her" Jay said, nodding in the direction of a girl sitting alone a few feet away. Zac looked over and smiled.

"Yeah... she's hot... doesn't look to happy though" He observed. Jay laughed.

"Let me go and cheer her up" He said, holding up the joint.

"That's right. You'll give some to someone you don't even know but you wont give any to me" Zac said.

"Correction. I'll give some to a girl I don't even know" Jay said. Jay got up to go over to the girl but Zac pulled him back down. "Hey!"

"Nah man, leave her... you'd just scare her off" Zac said. About a year and a half after C.J's death, Zac had turned to alcohol and drugs, finding that it took his mind off of the pain. He had quit the band, so there no longer was Hanson. Zac reached into his pocket and pulled out his pipe, a lighter and a bag of marijuana that he had bought a few days earlier. He packed in some of the dope and then began to smoke it. He got up and walked over to the girl. "Want some?" He asked, holding out the pipe and lighter. The girl looked in disgust at first the pipe and then him.

"No thanks... I don't smoke" She replied.

"Not even cigarettes?" Zac asked as he sat down next to her. She shook her head. "Do you drink?" Zac asked her. She shrugged.

"Sometimes, but I've never been drunk before." She said. Zac shrugged and then took a few tokes from his pipe. *Authors note: we don't do any of this but we know what we need to know from our friends who were stupid enough to take up smoking and drinking * "Why do you do that?" The girl asked Zac.

"I have my reasons" Zac said. "So, you have a name or anything?" Zac asked.

"Amy"

"You have a last name?"

"Amy is enough for now" Amy replied.

"Ok, Amy is enough for now, I'm-"

"Zac... Zac Hanson" Amy said. Zac nodded.

"So I'm still recognizable hey?"

"Yep" Amy said. She watched as Zac picked up a bottle of Vodka and began to take long gulp's from it. "Doesn't that burn your throat?"

"Uh huh" Zac said once he put the bottle down. "You get used to it though... the pain goes away" Zac said.C.J's smiling face then flashed into his mind. "Well, not all pain" Zac said softly to himself.

Jaymi woke up with Isaac next to her. She looked over at him and smiled. He was sleeping soundly and was softly snoring. Suddenly a wave of nausea rose up from her stomach. She clapped her hand over her mouth as she got out of bed. She dashed down the hall to the bathroom and began to throw up.

"Hey Babe, you ok?" Isaac asked as he stood behind her.

"Mm hmm" Was all that Jaymi said. Once she finished, she wiped her mouth with toilet paper and then flushed the toilet. She stood up and then washed her hands and face. She then turned to Isaac. "Why am I doing this?" She asked him.

"Because you love me and you want to have my baby" Isaac replied, smiling. Jaymi stood and thought for a moment.

"...Nahh... not a good enough reason.... give me a better one" She said, grinning at him.

"Well, how about the fact that we have created a life?" He asked. Jaymi smiled.

"Ok, you got me. I'm just glad this time we both want this..." Jaymi said, looking down at her stomach.

"Hey.. it wasn't that I didn't want it... we were just to young.. and I was still in the band.." Isaac mumbled, as if to defend himself. Jaymi sighed.

"I know. Hey.. do you want any breakfast?"

"Sounds good. I'm going to have a shower and leave you to it" Isaac said and gave Jaymi a kiss on the cheek. Jaymi wandered down to the kitchen and turned the kettle on. Less than a minute after that the door bell rang. Jaymi glanced at her watch. It was 8:45 am. She groaned and went to answer the door.

"Taylor? what are you doing here?" She asked, as she stepped back to let him in.

"Your sister! Jay.. she's driving me mad!" He exclaimed. Jaymi rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, so what else is new... " She said and headed back into the kitchen. Taylor followed her and sat down at the table. "You want a coffee or something?" She asked him, he nodded.

"Where's Isaac?"

"In the shower.. he should be out any minute." Jaymi told Taylor, setting down a steaming cup of coffee infront of him. He smiled his thanks and took a sip out of it. A few minutes later Jaymi sat down with her own cup of herbal tea.

"How can you drink that stuff?" Taylor asked, peering into the cup with disgust on his face. Jaymi laughed.

"It's good for the baby." She said. "So, what's Kayla doing to drive you mad?" Jaymi asked.

"She keeps telling me to get a job... And it's not as if I'm not trying! I'm out everyday looking" Taylor said. Jaymi was silent.

"Well, you do know that job for you at Printan Publishing is still open" She said. Taylor closed his eye's and took a deep breath.

"I know Jaymi." Was all that he said.

"Hey Taylor, what are you doing here at this time?" Isaac asked, walking into the kitchen.

"Kayla" Taylor sighed, not wanting to explain to Isaac.

"The jobs still yours if you want it Tay" Isaac said, sitting down with a cup of coffee in his hands. Jaymi got up.

"You want any breakfast Taylor?" She asked. Taylor shook his head.

"No thanks"

"Ok.. Ike? scrambled eggs ok?" Jaymi asked. Isaac nodded.

"Sounds fine honey" He said. Then the three of them heard the doorbell ringing. Isaac got up. A few minutes later he walked back in with Zac following him.

"Hi Zac... want any breakfast?" Jaymi asked. Zac shook his head.

"Not so loud" He said, sitting down next to Taylor at the table. His head was pounding and any little noise was magnified 10 000 times. Jaymi shook her head.

"Why do it to yourself Zac? I know you're hurting and all, but you have to let go.." Jaymi said softly. Zac groaned.

"Shut up Jaymi! How would you know how I feel? I've heard it all before!" Zac snapped. Jaymi glared at Zac then announced that she was going to have a shower. She walked out of the kitchen without another word. Leaving Isaac to make his own breakfast.
