"Please, please, please." Jaymi chanted to herself. She held up the glass tube and opened her eye's. "Oh thank god!" She cried when she saw that the test read positive. Her and Isaac had been trying for a baby the past few months and now she was finally pregnant. She walked out of the bathroom and headed for the phone in her bedroom. She picked it up and dialled Isaac's work number.
"Hello Printan Publishing" Joanne, Isaac's secretary answered.
"Hi Joanne, is Isaac there?" Jaymi asked.
"Who's calling?"
"Jaymi"
"One moment please" Joanne said. Soon Jaymi heard Isaac's voice.
"Hey beautiful" He said.
"Hi there daddy" Jaymi replied.
"Excuse me?" Isaac asked.
"I said hi there daddy" Jaymi repeated.
"You mean?"
"Yup... I just did a test then and it came up positive. Although I still have to go to my doctor"
"Jaymi this is great!" Isaac exclaimed happily. Jaymi smiled.
"I had a funny feeling you would be happy" She laughed.
"You bet I am. Listen honey, I have to go now, I've got a meeting with a client in about thirty seconds, so I'll pick you up tonight and we'll go out for dinner or something ok?"
"Sound's great... bye.. love you"
"Love you to" Isaac said and then hung up the phone. Jaymi sighed and then cleaned up the bathroom. She then headed downstairs and found her step brother Ben, sitting on the couch aimlessly flicking through t.v channels. Mrs. Bennet had gotten re-married a year ago to a man called Doug Wilson. He had two children, Ben, who was sixteen and Carly, who was twelve. Malcom had moved out and was now living in California with his fiancé Brooke and their 10 month old daughter Hayley.
"Having fun?" Jaymi asked, sitting next to Ben. Ben shrugged.
"Melissa is out" He said, referring to his new girlfriend.
"Hey, why aren't you at school?" Jaymi asked, remembering that it was Thursday.
"We have a free day" Ben said.
"You sure?"
"Yes! why, don't you believe me?" Ben challenged.
"It's not that I don't believe you Ben, you've taken a lot of days off from school lately" Jaymi said.
"I've got a god damn free day today Jaymi you can even call the friggin school!" Ben shouted.
"Hey! don't shout at me! It's not my fault you skip day's from school!" Jaymi shouted back. Her and Ben usually got along very well, the only sore spot with them was how often Ben went to school. Jaymi got up and went up to her room. She was the only one out of Malcom, Kayla and her who still lived at home. Kayla lived in a caravan with Taylor in the Hanson's backyard. They were saving up to start renting an apartment. Jaymi lived at Isaac's 2 bedroom house on weekends. Jaymi got her wallet, sunglasses and key's and then headed downstairs again. "I'm goin out for a while" she called out to Ben. She got no response from him so she shrugged her shoulders and walked out the front door. Leaving Ben home alone.
Kayla unlocked the door to the caravan and let herself in. Taylor wasn't home from where ever he was. "Oh my lord" She said when she saw the mess that was on the caravan's small table. Kayla knew that Taylor had made the mess with Zac. "And I'm the one who gets to clean it up!" She said as she screwed the lid to the jar of peanut butter back on. Kayla then heard a knock on the door. "Yeah, come in" she called out. The door opened and Jessica walked in.
"Hi Kayla... eww... who made this?" She asked after she noticed the mess on the table.
"One guess" Kayla replied as she continued cleaning up.
"Taylor?"
"Bingo... and he only make's these kind of messes when he's with Zac. God Jess, how you have managed to live with them for thirteen years is beyond me" Kayla said. Jessica grabbed two plates and started rising them in the sink.
"I really don't know how I've managed myself... I just put up with it" She said. "How was work?"
"Oh, today it was fine... but tomorrow who knows..." Kayla said. Kayla worked in a clothing store at a nearby mall. Jessica often went to visit her there with Carly.
"I thought you didn't have to work tomorrow" Jessica said.
"I thought so to, but if I work tomorrow then I'll get over time, and that's double the amount I usually get paid and Tay and I really need the money"
"Oh right... Kay... can I ask you something?" Jessica asked. Kayla nodded.
"Sure... "
"How old were you when you had your first boyfriend?" Jessica asked. Kayla smiled.
"My first serious boyfriend?". Jessica nodded. "Well, my first serious boyfriend was your brother... and I was fifteen then"
"Can you be in love at thirteen?"
"I think it's possible Jess, a lot of boy's your age are really immature... so they wouldn't have a clue what love is... but you get the odd few who know what love is. Zac was in love at twelve" Kayla pointed out. She felt bad about bringing up C.J and Zac. Jessica nodded.
"I remember C.J..." Jessica said, letting her voice trail off as she looked at a framed picture of C.J.
"So do I..." Kayla said. "Anyway.. why all these questions? you got a guy interested Jess?" Kayla asked, grinning at Jessica. Jessica grinned back.
"Maybe... I've heard that he like's me... and my friends think they are going to set me up with him at this party that's coming up soon." Jessica said.
"Hello hello hello!!!" Jaymi called out, walking into the caravan. "Hi guy's!" She said cheerfully once she saw Jessica and Kayla sitting at the now clean table. Kayla and Jessica greeted Jaymi and then Jessica filled Jaymi in on what they were talking about. "I say go for it! if you like him and he like's you then what are you waiting for?" Jaymi asked. Jessica shrugged.
"I dunno" Jessica said. She stood up. But then sat down again. "Can I ask you something else to?"
"Sure..." Jaymi replied.
"Ok well, how old were you guy's when you lost your virginity?" Jessica blurted out.
"Why do you want to know?" Kayla asked.
"Well, the guy that I like, I've heard that he's not a virgin..."
"Oh well, Jess, I take back all I said about you going for it. You're thirteen!" Jaymi said.
"How old were you guy's though?" Jessica pressed. Kayla and Jaymi glanced at each other.
"You really want to know?" Kayla asked. Jessica nodded. "Ok, well... I was sixteen" Kayla said.
"... And I was fifteen... but we're not saying that it's ok to go and sleep with some guy as soon as you're fifteen or whatever. I made a big mistake... and we don't want you to do the same Jess"
"How old is this guy anyway?" Kayla asked.
"Fourteen... I think"
"You think?"
"Well, that's what I heard... Shelly told me that he was fourteen. He goes to her school." Jessica said. She looked down at her watch. "I gotta go... thanks for you help" She said. Jessica got up and then walked out of the caravan.
