In the name of God Amen, I Stephen Thomas of the County of Dickson and the State of Tennessee considering the uncertainty of of this mortal life and being of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be to God for the same do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say
First I leave my Soul to God in --?-his special blessings thereon for Christ said
Secondly my will and desire is that all my just debts be paid.
Third I leave and bequeath unto my two sons John C. Thomas and William Thomas, all my books my watch and wearing apparel to be equally divided between them.
Fourth I leave and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary Thomas all my lands, my negroes, horses, cattle - hogs with all my tools and plantation utensils and all my household and kitchen furniture, with all other actides, debts, dues or demands whatsoever not heretofore named or bequeathed during her natural life and at her death what then may be remaining of my said estate to be sold and equally divided between my three surviving sons and daughter and
Lastly I hereby nominate and appoint my beloved wife Mary Thomas my sole Executor to this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made. But it is to be understood that is my desare that my said Executor be permitted to administer on this my last will and testament without giving my security for her performance.
In testimony whereof I the said Stephen Thomas have hereunto set my hand and seal this twentieth day of August one thousand eight hundred and twenty four,

Signed sealed, published and declared by the above named Stephen Thomas, to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in prences of testator

Then was the written last will and testament of Stephen Thomas decd produced in open court and proven by the oaths of David McAdoo and Robert Livingston subscribing witnesses thereunto and ordered to be recorded.
