“Here we are” Amanda instructed the cab driver “36 Cherry Wood lane” Amanda said softly. As she got out she paid the cab driver and unloaded her bags. She took out her key and opened the door. The place was huge. It was about the size of a small mansion. It had 6 rooms, a rec room, indoor pool and suana, a excersice room, you name it, it was probably in that house.
“man nice house Amanda” AJ said looking around
“um yeah it really is, thanks” Amanda said. She was motioning for everyone to bring their bcgs upstairs so they could pick their rooms. As she went up the stairs flashbacks started coming to her, of how she ran up the stairs to find her sisters body lying there at the end of it, there was a still a blood stain there. Amanda struggled to get up the stairs, not only was she in so much pain from her leg, but from the memories. Amanda fell to the ground crying. Nick ran up the stairs to pick her up.
“you ok?”
“yeah, I will be, just give me a few minutes”
“ok” he said kissing her forhead. Everyone went looking around to see what rooms they wanted. Amanda stood in her old room, it was so girly she thought to herself. It was painted pink with a flower border, with a matching flower comferter which was still folded on her bed. She had her collection of percalin dolls and then all her achievments from horseback riding competitions, dance competitions, talent shows, soccer tournments and her modeling pictures, which she gave up after her parents died. Nick came in and looked around
“so was this your room?” He said going up to her wrapping his arms around her waist.
“yeah” she said looking around at the modeling pictures she took with her sisters, and the old time photos she took with her sisters (Emma and Diana), Kim, and her mom. “come with me” Amanda said walking out of the room. She next went to the room down the hall.
“this was my parents room” Amanda said looking through all their stuff, that had been untouched for a year now.
“whos this?” Nick said picking up a picture. It was from 2 years ago.
“ok thats my mom, thats my dad, thats Emma, thats Diana, thats me, and....thats Maxx” she said pointing everyone out
“Maxx?..isn’t that?”
“yup, thats him, dosen’t he look like such a peaceful guy?” she paused “yeah well I wish he would have been” just then the phone rang . “Who int he world knows I’m home?”
“hello?” She picked up
“hey" Chris said, “my sisters old boyfriend” she whispered to Nick as Nick noded. “how did you know I was home?”
“well I thought I saw you when I was walking, but I wasn’t sure, do you have company there?” Chris asked
“yeah my boyfriend and a bunch of his friends, Kim’s over too, they’re all coming to the ceremony your coming right?”
“yeah ofcourse, well ok I just wanted to check up on you, so I’ll chat with you later”
“ok bye Chris” she said hanging up the phone. Well you guys can go get somthing to eat she said walking down the stairs where she found everyone in the rec room playing pool.
“you gonna come?” Nick asked
“no I better get writing on my speech”
“you sure you wanna stay by yourself?” Kim interrupted
“um yeah sure its ok, come on I’m a big girl now” she laughed
“I’m not that hungry I’ll stay home”
“Nick? not hungry? yeah right, its ok Nick go ahead” Amanda joked
“you sure?”
“yeah”. With that they all left. At first Amanda just walked around, remembering all the good times she had with her family. She looked around her room, then her sisters, then her parents. She went next door really quick to see the people who were taking care of her dog from when Amanda went to Kim’s.
“Amanda??”
“hi Mr. Polansky, is Sammy still here?” she asked so sweetly
“of course come in” he said opening the door then giving her a hug “how are you?”
“I’m doing ok”
“I thought I saw you go into the house, but I wasn’t sure because I saw a few people with you”
“yeah thats my boyfriend and some of his friends, they're coming to he ceremony in 2 days...oh your coming right?”
“of course I am, well let me go get Sammy for you” he walked out of the room as Amanda heard his yelling for Sammy. Sammy was only 3 months old when she gave him up.
“Sammy” Amanda yelled with excitment as Sammy ran into her arms, he was still pretty tiny, even though Sammy hadn’t seen her for a year, he knew who it was.
“thanks for taking care of her Mr. Polansky”
“it was no problem, are you staying in your house for now?”
“well for as of right now I’m staying here only for a few days maybe a few weeks, I’m really not sure, because I was suppose to go to Juliards, but I’m not sure what I’m doing any more” Amanda admitted. She could always tell Mr. Polansky anything, he was an elderly man with a big heart, he would always buy her ice cream on hot summer days, and play softball with her and her sisters, she felt as though them two were close, and she didn’t have to hide anything from him.
“what do you mean you don’t know if your going? what happened?” he asked knowing how much Juliards meant to Amanda
“I got into an accident, and I paralyzed my left leg, I can walk and everything but I haven’t tried dancing on it, and to tell you the truth I’m a little scared”
“dont be, don’t worry” he said giving her a kiss on the cheek
“well I’ll see ya Mr. Polansky, bye!” She said taking Sammy with her.
“Bye Amanda” he said watching her take her dog back to her house. All the memories of when she was a little girl buzzed through his head.
