The Bay of Chaleur area is well known for it's beauty, beaches and interesting things to do! Seaside Getaway Restaurant and Cabins is located close to the City of Bathurst with it's numerous attractions and activities, and adjacent to an oceanside beach. The beach is a wonderful playground for the children to build sand castles and splash in the clean ocean water. Adults can beachcomb or enjoy romantic evening strolls along the seashore while watching the spectacular sunset across the Bay.

In Bathurst, each weekend, breakfast is served on a scenic terrace at the Bathurst Marina.

The Gowan Brae Golf and Country Club course is one of the most picturesque in Atlantic Canada. This waterside 18 hole course is rated as one of the best courses in the Maritimes! The Bathurst War Museum displays military artifacts from WW1, WW2 and Korea and includes an authentic reproduction of a WW1 trench. Tetagouche Falls is a secluded and romantic spot where the beauty and power of the falls attracts people to the neat, clean picnic area.

Pabineau Falls is an angler's paradise. During the fall, Atlantic Salmon can be seen fighting and jumping their way against the strong current and is an ideal spot for an outdoor picnic where children can wander through the parks, enjoying nature at it's fullest.

Bird Watchers, Cyclists and Hikers will simply love Daly Point Reserve which boasts some 100 acres of pristine saltmarsh and wooded plots along with numerous trails. The Bathurst Farmer's Market and it's rival City Farmer's Market both provide an opportunity for weekend shopping and plain old fashioned fun!

East of Salmon Beach, you can discover small fishing villages where you can see local fishermen arrive with an assortment of fish and shellfish.

The picturesque village of Caraquet boasts a large port where ocean going ships move to and fro! On the road to the Acadian Penninsula and Caraquet, you will find the Historic Acadian Village where you and the family can learn about the Acadian folklore and spend a day wandering back through time as you experience life as it was in a period pioneer village!

In the area you can also enjoy a canoeing or kayaking day-tour. Qualified participants can enjoy scuba diving in the clear Bay waters. Ocean fishing excursions can be arranged or, for the more casual fishing visitor, there is also a fishing pond well-stocked with Rainbow trout where you can rent all the necessary fishing tackle for a day's fun with the family! Whale Watching Tours are also available in the area!

From Seaside Getaway's location, you can explore and enjoy these activities - and more - after which you can return to our restaurant and enjoy a wonderful supper before retiring back to your cozy cabin for a well-earned night's sleep in the envigorating sea air!
