All main characters in the script are based on real people. All
of the main events are true. We are particularly grateful to
one former Edelweiss Pirate we met during our research and who
appears as "Karl" in the film where we have changed his name).
He was very close to all the Pirates who were executed and
their deaths bring tears to his eyes these many years later.
