The Perfect Fan

Chapter 11

"Hi is Nick there?"

"No."

"Hey Dork."

"What's up babe?" my stomach dropped, I was nervous that he would find out and then everything would be ruined. The only way he wounldn't find out is if I told him, so I wasn't going to tell him.

"Nothing, are you doing anything?"

"Well I was thinking of you so I started jerking off and then-"

"Oh Nick! Please!" He laughed "I'm just kidding, but i was thinking about you."

"Yeah, Nick, whatever. Do you want to come over?"

"I'll have to check my schedule but- yeah looks like I'm free." Laughing, was making me feel better already, "Are you going to come over then?"

"Of course!"

"Okay, bring your trunks," I giggled.

"You want me to come now?"

"Yes!"

"Oh okay I'll see you in a bit then. Bye Babe."

"Bye Nick," I hung the phone up and went to the bathroom. Sticking the needles into the crook of my arm. I changed into a orange bikini that I had bought from Cancun. I put a white tank top and orange bunjee cord pants. I went out to the pool to take the cover off. I opened an umbrella over one of the tables on the far right of the backyard. Nick came in about ten minutes. When I answered the door he didn't say anything just pressed his lips against mine, dragging them down to the flesh of my neck. He moved me backward and closed the door behind me. He pulled away and smiled, "Hi, what's up?" I smiled back, "Hi to you too Nick. C'mon." I brought him up stairs.

I opened the door to my room, "This is my room." I took his hand and we sat down on my bed. Nick grinned, "A waterbed. You know what I've always wanted to do on a waterbed?" I inched closer to Nick, just as our lips were about to touch I pushed him to the bed and ran out the door. I sat behind the couch of the upper sitting level leaning against the sliding glass doors that lead out to the balcony.

"Sam this isn't fair, your house is too damn big and I'm going to get lost!" He sniffed and I layed on the floor with my feet sticking out from behind the couch giggling my ass off. "I hear you but I dont't see you!" still laughing he ran over down the hall to the sitting area which I was in. He leaned in the door way of the french doors, "You are so strange," he helped me up , grabbing my arms and pulling me to my feet.

"Ouch."

"Oh, sorry did I hurt you?" I lied, "No I stubbed my toe," rubbing my sore arm that was a little red from the needle. He pushed my hand away gently and stared at the holes in my skin, "What happened?" I pulled my arm away.

"Nothing I just had to get a shot, that's all."

"Aw," he kissed my arm and then wrapped his arms around my waist. We went outside to the pool. I sat on the edge and rolled up my pants. I dipped my feet in the water. Nick sat down next to me. We started talking about nothing really, "So your friend Josh, have you guys been friends for awhile?" I shrugged, "Since second grade."

"Whoa, that's a long time."

"Yep," I smiled at him, "but he can get really annoying sometimes."

"I could imagine." I rested my head against his shoulder. we sat for awhile. All the time though I was thinking about the message, that the mysterious Dr. Martin had left.

"Sam? Hello?"

"Yeah? I'm sorry."

"It's okay, I space out too every now and then too," he looked at me.

"Sam, what's wrong?" I bit my nails, "Huh? Nothing."

"Something's wrong I can tell by the scared look in your eyes," I closed my eyes as tears swelled. When I opened them the tears fell lightly down my cheeks.

"Aw Baby, what's wrong?"

"Nick I haven't been completely honest with you," I swallowed hard. "That night we first met I told you my parents were killed in a car accident," I splashed my foot in the water, "but they really dissapeared, they're missing. They were flying to Africa when I was seven. The plane crashed and they never found the bodies," he held me in his arms as I cried.

"Sh, it's okay," I looked in his eyes, they were fulled with such warmth.

"That's the thing Nick. everything was okay. When I met you it was perfect. Now some Doctor calling concerning my parents. I'm scared to call, because I'm not so sure I want to hear it anymore."

"Sam, I'm so sorry, I wish I knew what to say but I don't."

"It's okay, you don't have to say anything because your here with me." He smiled and kissed my cheek, "You really need to call though. I'm with you 110% of the way," I smiled at him. Now I was relived, one big secret down only one more to go, "So let's just hang out for a bit to take your mind off things. When you think your ready call back." I kissed him and laughed.

"Your great, do you know that?"

"I do now." I got up and started for the kitchen, "Where are you going?"

"Don't worry I'll be right back." I turned the stero on and the music poured from the speakers that were tucked away in the shrubbery around the house. I came outside and removed my shirt and pants. I folded them neatly and placed them on the chair near me,

"Nicky stop staring," I giggled. He scooped me up in his arms and kissed my neck. Then jumped in the pool with me in his arms. We both came up laughing, "Nick just one thing."

"What's that?"

"You jumped in with your shirt on." I laughed and dunked him under the water. I waited for him to come up but he didn't, instead he pulled me down by my feet. the pressure of plunging downward loosened the strings to the top of my bathing suit. I came up holding my top piece to my chest, "Nick you jerk, my top came off." Nick stopped laughing and grinned. He swam over to me, "Come here." I shook my head and laughed.

"No, I don't trust you."

"You don't? That's mean I just wanted to help you." He started swimming away, "Nick don't leave me." He smiled like a little kid in a candy store as his eyes grew big.

"Okay," he swam up behind me and rubbed my shoulders lightly. "I thought you were going to help me."

"I was but then I changed my mind," I smiled. He lifted my arms and slid the cloth down my arms and off my body. He started kissing me as he pressed me to his body. He slipped his soaking shirt over his head and brought me closer to his bare chest. The phone rang from within the kitchen over the music on the radio.

"Nick give me my top please." He hesitated at first but then handed me my top. I hoped out of the pool and picked up the phone, "Hello?"

"Hello is this Samantha Wright?"

"Yes, can I help you?" I swallowed, "I'm calling on behalf of your parents," he paused, "Thomas and Marie Wright."

"Yes."

"Well it seems that we have found the bodies both suffer brain damage. We would like you to come down to the clinic this afternoon."

"Where is it?" the doctor gave me the address, "Okay, I'll come by at four, thank you. Good-bye." I went back outside where Nick was floating on his back staring into the sky, "Nick, babe, listen I got to go," he got out of the pool and wrapped me in a towel.

"Why? What happened?"

"They think they've found my parents."

"Oh God, really?"

"Yes."

"Well, that's a good think right?"

"I don't know, I don't think so."

"I think I understand," I smiled at him and gave him a kiss, "Your the best do you know that?"

"I try."

"Okay well I'm going to get change , I'll call you when I get back."

"Sam I'm coming with you, moral support you know?"

"Are you sure?"

"Of course."

"Okay, well Josh might have left a shirt here or something."

"Okay." after we dried off and changed we left for the hospital clinic.
