~*~*~Chapter One~*~*~
I was walking around the grocery store one day, minding my own buisness. I just got off a hard day at work and I remembered I needed to get some food for dinner that night. So anyway... I was walking around looking for something good when someone ran into me and practically sent me sprawling to the floor.
"Watch where you're going." I yelled to the blonde that ran into me. Must've been having a major blonde moment. Although I shouldn't say that I had long blonde hair. Maybe I was the one having the blonde moment. Yea it was me that ran into him, I was the one reading the paper in my hand. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell at you, I'm just in a hurry." I apologized, being the nice person I am.
"Nah, it's okay. What's your name?" The blonde said to me. My my, he certainly is blunt. I rolled my eyes. Another guy who was only trying to get the girl. Typical. Although I had to admit, he was cute.
"Trina. What's yours?"
The blonde smiled at me. 'Nice smile' I thought.
"Nick." He replied sticking out his hand. I took it and shook it. (AN: I know that sounds VERY corny.)
"Well, Nick. Sorry to rush, but I really have to go, my parents are coming over to my house and I haven't seen them in awhile so I'm going to make us a nice dinner." Why am I explaining myself to a stranger? Oh Well.
"Okay. Maybe I'll catch you later." He said walking off. He wasn't kidding either. I did see him again. When I was driving home he was in the lane next to me. We have the same cars - Durangos. Only mine was blue and his was green. He waved just as the light turned green. So I didn't really have time to wave back. Unless I wanted to sit there for a second so everyone in my lane could beep their horns at me for holding them up. So I drove home, never expecting to see him again. When I got there I told my best friend Megan who lived with me what happened. Of course boy crazy Megan only wanted to know one thing.... 'Was he hot?' I could honestly tell her that he was. After I told her my parents were coming we both went to take a shower. Then we met in the kitchen to make dinner.
"So what was his name?" Megan asked curiosly. Ugh the girl never lets boy buisness alone.
"Nick..."I replied cutting a tomato.
"Nick who?" I KNEW that was coming.
"I dunno, we didn't ask for last names."
"Why? Last names are just as important as first names." Leave it to Megan to think that. You'd think at 20 she'd grow up a little.
"It just didn't come up."
"Oh , did your job fry your brain THAT bad?"
"Meg. Working at Abercromie and Fitch isn't that hard." I told her chopping up the lettuce for a salad. Megan didn't need a job to put her threw college since her parents had a lot of money, so Megan thought working was a federal offense.
The doorbell rang and Megan went to answer it. Soon she entered the kitchen with Mr. and Mrs. Larson, my parents, not far behind.
"Hi mom, Hi dad. How are you guys?" I asked them, giving each of them a hug.
"We're fine honey. How are you? Is school going okay?" My mom asked me.
"I'm fine, schools fine." Megan and I attended night classes at a college here in Florida.
"Smells great in here. What's cooking?" My dad asked. He's always hungry, but surprisingly he's not over weight.
Megan answered him. "There's spagetti, garlic bread, and a salad, all made from scratch."
The four of us sat threw and hour long dinner. Then Megan And I told my parents we had to go to school. We grabbed our books after my parents left, then we left in Megan's silver Eclipse.
"I'm gonna get some movies after classes, you comin with?" Megan asked me.
"I kinda have to, you drove me here." Megan can be such and airhead sometimes. You'd think she was a blonde but she actually had light brown, shoulder length, hair.
"Oh, your right." We headed our seperate ways to classes, and sat threw three boring lectures.
I met Megan back at her car and we drove to the movie store. Megan told me to pick one, and she'd pick one. I was walking down the isle looking for 'Sleepy Hollow' when I bumped into somebody.
"Sorry, I should watch where I'm going." I told the person.
"Wow, second time today. Your on a roll." the person replied. His voice sounded familiar.
"Nick?"
"Yeah." he laughed. "This is getting a little weird."
"I know." I laughed along with him.
"I didn't get your last name last time we ran into each other." Yup blunt.
"Larson." I said. "Trina Larson. What's yours?" Here ya go Meg.
"Carter..... Nick Carter." He mimicked me.
"How old are you Nick Carter?"
"20, you?"
"19" I told him as Megan came into view.
"Hey, is that the person you told me about?" she whispered to me.
"Shut up...yeah." I told her. "Here's the movie I want, now go."
"Okay, Okay." She could take a hint.
"SO Nick, do you live around here?" I asked him.
"About and hour away, my parents live about 10 minutes from here though. I'm visiting them."
"Oh, well I really should go find Megan now. See-ya around." I said turning to leave.
"Wait." He said. I turned around to find him scribbling something on a piece of paper. He handed it to me. "Call me sometime." He finished.
"Okay." I walked to the counter after taking his phone number, but Megan wasn't there, so I went outside and found her waiting impatiently by her car.
"God, what took you so long."
"Sorry Meg. I was talking to Nick." Wait a second. Why I'm I apologizing to her. She's the one that wanted me to talk to him.
"Nick who?" I knew it, she never let's me down. This time I was ready for that question.
I smiled. "Carter."
"Wow, you actually asked." she said completely astounded.
"Yeah." It's not that nig of a surprise is it?
"So how old is he?"
"20."
"Hmm, you two are, like, perfect for each other."
"I just met him today Megan." That's Megan for ya, always the matchmaker type.
"So?"
I didn't answer her question. I just thought about Nick. About his smile, his crystal clear blue eyes, and even his hair, short and spiked. 'I'm turning into Megan.' I thought. 'Falling for a guy the first time I meet him, or should I say bump into him?'
