The Crew:  The Lt. William Green Crew of B-17G 42-37975 Lost in Grevelingen Bay off the coast of Holland 4 Feb 1944 L to R Standing: Lt. Jack Jensen, Co-Pilot Lt. Jack Hamilton, Bombardier Lt. John Joyce, Navigator Lt. William Green, Pilot 2nd row Sgt Sandford Tisdale, RWG Sgt Richard Anderegg BTG Sgt Roman Beran TTG Sgt Robert Valentik (NOT PICTURED)  Sgt. Valentik was replaced  (The person pictured is Tom Sasser (original Crew through all of training -  but was replaced by Valentik prior to the fatal mission), Radio Sgt Harry Waskewicz, LWG Sgt Leroy E. Leist, TG.

Regarding above crew picture.  Man in picture (bottom row) was actually, Tom Sasser. Tom was one of the original crew thru all their training, but was replaced by Robert Valentik just prior to the fatal mission. Tom and his wife live in Florida.  Tom is 92 years old and unable to be interviewed. His wife says he is still that he was replaced in spite of the fact that he would have been on this Feb 4 mission where all the men were lost. ~ Adrian Leist Caldwell
