Devoted to Julie Taymor: The Goddess of the Stage!
Who is Julie Taymor? She is, for one, the director/costume designer/mask & puppetry maker for the Lion King on Broadway. She also wrote the lyrics for the magnificent song "Endless Night," sung by the adult Simba in Act II.
Julie has also done SO many other shows all over the world, including Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the USA, and MANY more!
Julie Taymor is amazing and brilliant and her work cannot be described by words. Thank you Julie for all of your work and brilliance, you have blessed this world with it!
by Julie Taymor & Eileen Blumenthal
This is my favorite book of all time. I'm so obsessed with it that I wrap it up in a soft white towel so nobody with "tainted" or "evil" eyes can see it. This is a documentation of all of Julie Taymor's work over the past 20 years including sketches of costume rederings, production pictures, and SO much more. For each show (musical, opera, or film) there is text about it written by Ms. Taymor herself! There is also a introduction about Julie written by Eileen Blumenthal which is great as well!

I own the video of Behind the Scenes with Julie Taymor, which is great! At only 28 minutes long, its WAY TOO SHORT!!!! WE WANT MORE!!!! WE NEEEEEED MORE!!!! This is a brilliant woman and we want more than 30 minutes with her! Geeesh! Anyway, this goes through what must go into live theatre, in this case, Taymor's wonderful production of William Shakespeare's The Tempest. Great, but WAY TOO SHORT!
