We would first like to thank you for the work that you do to make a difference in the lives of women and girls in the Philadelphia and surrounding community. In our effort to respond to the initiatives begun by many wonderful grassroots organizations and individuals, Wisdom Word Women, a subsidiary of In The Company of Poets, is collaborating with the Pan African Studies Community Education Program (PASCEP) of Temple University, to coordinate our first annual gathering for women and girls: From Womb To Womanhood Conference.

During this three-day event, we will spend our time listening and learning; facilitating the expression of diverse ideologies and philosophies; allowing our creativity and imagination to foster new ways of thinking; and providing a welcoming environment for the awakening of our spiritual and feminine power. We believe that this conference can make a real difference in each of our lives, and have a ripple effect in a community that is ready for change. We invite women—and men—from a diverse backgrounds and ages to attend. Bring a senior friend, or your teenaged daughter; share the brochure with friends at your place of business; spread the word in your community. We look forward to being with you.

To further involve like-minded individuals and organizations in this collaboration, we invite you to assist us in providing the conference experience without the financial burden, for those girls who would otherwise not be able to attend. The weekend will consist of a welcome reception on Friday evening, Saturday workshops and performances, and a Sunday afternoon awards ceremony. Although the registration fee for this three-day event is only $40.00 per person ($25.00 for middle/high school/college students), we realize that not everyone can afford the total cost of a weekend at the conference. Costs of living inevitably rise and family situations change, either temporarily or permanently. However, for all of those who desire to attend, we hope that you will help us to make that happen.

For that purpose, Wisdom Word Women has established a fund to which you can make a donation for the specific purpose of sponsoring attendance for a girl in need.
