"What can I say about The Runs that hasn't already been said about flavored condoms? They're awesome!"
~Iain Purdy (the Mel Gibson, Manson Family Summer Vacation, etc.)

As lore would have it, The Runs are a product of a long, winding journy of three young men (or in most cases, really bad Chinese or Mexican food), to try and make their way into musical... uh... indeviduality? The story starts long ago in 1999...

Ian and Steve got together with their (at the time) mutual friend, Jon Kayser, to form the band Grinder, a band with little direction, or drive. Steve and Ian decided finally to leave the band in 2000, after finding out that Jon Kayser was in fact, a complete asshole (yes Jon, we hold many hard feelings.), and they decided to forge a new band, which they aptly called "Barbicide." However, they needed to find a bassist, since Ian moved to his more beloved position as guitarist for the band. Thsi slot was soon filled by their good friend, Tim Conley.

After a series of stylistic changes in the band, and non-enthusiastic shows, the guys decided to stop their attempt to forge a specific genre of music, and decided to create songs that included aspects of many different kinds of music they all enjoyed, including punk/hardcore, metal, the blues, and instances of pure catchiness. The result were such seminal songs as Spray Adhesive, and Bisk. The guys fionally decided that since they finally found a style of music that fit, they needed a new name. After a long time of trying to find the right one, they finally settled on The Runs.

With new songs, and a new name to boot, the Runs set out into the Croton scene, and finally broke through with their high impact stage performance, and high energy songs at the 2004 Kill Whitey Fest, which featured many of Croton's (and other areas) finest rising acts, including the Manson Family Summer Reunion, and Another Nameless Corpse.
