Ok, what the fuck can I type about myself? How bout' starting from the top!

Corey "Shift244" Hartwig was born, June 28th, 1982 in Wausau, Wisconsin. His mother a 2nd grade teacher in the Mosinee school district, and his father worked as a GTE employee.  Shift244 (shifty, shift, whatever you wanna shorten it to) grew up in Mosinee.  Living in the country until a large move.....into the city in 6th grade. Corey always had a love for music. If it be playing some wicked 80's shit on one of his Fisherprice plastic tape players to playing cds in the late 90's. Music became a big part of his life.

Friends with Dusty (guitar) during the elementary days (1-3) and then breaking apart until freshman year of high school. This tangent was going to exploid. Now rooming in 131 of Horan Hall, the two jam and write their wicked shit.  

 But it all started back in the day. Once listening to shit like Robert Palmer and New Kids on the Block in the 80s and 90s, he switched up a bit.  Moved to a more rock style of STP, Nirvana, and Semisonic.  Finally in the late 90's he changed once again his musical taste. Still liking STP, he now grew into a love for bands like Korn, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, and whatever else has a pump.

Shift244 didn't have the greatest musical ability, still really doesn't. But with practice, most people can get better. In his younger days he played trombone, and after that, nothing.  Don't get him wrong, he always loved music. Went to concerts all the time, listened to music religiously. Christ, sometimes stands in his room, jumping and rapping the ill rhymes he's listening to. It's always been a dream in his life, at least in the past 5 years to join a band. Get in a band that can get big. Corey wants your help in creating his dream. Help Coprophage to get large and big. To open for a band like Korn, or any band in a big venue. Yeah, he knows it won't happen. But one can dream.

Not very many people know Shift244's style of music, how he plays, what he's all about. When asked some questions about the whole Coprophage situation this is what good friend Julie Dahlen had to say: "I think Corey's a very good friend, very funny, and sometimes perverted. At heart, a sweet person and good listener." Don't get her wrong, Shift244 is one bad ass prick too, hence the shift244 nickname. When asked who she thought Shift244 reminded her most of she answered, "That guy from Korn, the lead singer." As much as he'd like be like Jonathan Davis, it's very untrue.

This is Shift244's newest Bass. An Ibanez SR-5 series 5-string bass. Similar to the old model of Fieldy from Korn, he is very pumped to own a more expensive guitar. Much thanks to Joe Style8d for trusting Shift with this.

Piercing.....I have both ears done, and my labret pierced. I have removed the eyebrow, oh well.
Tattoos.....2. One on my upper left arm of the face for the guitarist of Disturbed, off their cd. It had all my piercings and facial hair, so I went with it. Also, I just got one on the lower left arm: a wakeboard handle/rope wrapped around my bicep.
