Rae's beautiful singing voice is unmistakable. Along with her years of experience as a guitarist she is a remarkably talented singer-songwriter. She just recently began her solo career. Rae performs her own original material and varied influences shine through. They are a mixture of jazz, progressive rock and pop music all skillfully blended together into a cohesive groove with hooks that will get you hooked.
The songs Rae writes and performs are uplifting and inspirational. There are the usual love songs, but that's only the beginning. Though her subject matter is varied, most of the songs have one thing in common: they will leave you feeling uplifted and inspired. "There is enough stuff out there in the world to bring people down. I'd rather show the other side of life, the positive side." This doesn't mean her songs are sappy, far from it. She's unafraid to tackle such subjects of teen murderers and abusive relationships. But she weaves it into the lessons that can be learned from such circumstance. "I'm trying to reflect that all life is about lessons. Whether it's love or tragedy there's a germ or a gem in that. I see that. That's all I'm doing is writing about what I see or the way I see it." You can decide for your self how these songs effect you, but one things is for sure they will affect you.
Rae lives and performs in the Seattle Area. Currently she is playing unplugged with the intimacy of just voice and guitar. She plans to add a full rhythm section in the future. "I really miss playing with a band. I love getting that group vibe going," said Rae recently.
Rae is currently in preproduction of her solo singer-songwriter album. She will release it on her very own record label: La Musyka Records.
Online Demo in MP3 Format:Above is an example of Rae's collaborative work. She did not sing on these. These tracks are from the group Talamasca, from their 1994 CD release on Mellow Records of Italy. She wrote most of the music for this band, which has since broken up.
