*Flash Back*
"I see you with a tall, umm, 5'10 or 5'11, dark brown haired, blue or green eyed older man," Misty said to her 8 year old best friend. "Thats the man you're gonna marry. He'll be hot, and older."
"Misty, you're so full of it. I'm never gonna get married," Lisa said back to her best friend of 3 years. "And you know it so stop saying that nonsence" *End of Flash back*

Both girls were eight years when they talked about that. Now nearly eight years later and that particular converstion had never left Lisa's mind. It replayed everytime she thought about guys.

*March 2000*
'Shit! I'm not even 16 years old and I have already lost so much. Now they tell me my best friend isn't gonna live. What am I gonna do?' the upset teenager thought to herself.
"Lisa?!" Sandy said to the dark haired girl. "You alright?"
"Huh? Oh yeah I'm fine" Lisa said while the tears wouldn't fall, though they should have.
"Excuse me, Miss Dennis, I need to ask you what happen at the party you were at." The officer said to the sad teen. "Did your friend take any drugs? If so do you know what? Did you take any?"
"I don't know!.... I DON'T KNOW!... ALRIGHT! ...I just don't know...... Heroine. Misty injected some haroine into her arm." Lisa said to the cop. "And no I didn't take anything, and I didn't drink. I left the room when the needle was brought out."

Lisa had gone to Oregon to visit her friend. They never really had a close friendship after sixth grade when Misty found out that for a little while drungs would help her forget her problems. Lisa on the other hand, had really fell into music as an escape. Nothing would have ever prepared her for what happened at the party.
Misty decided to do a little bit of drugs, smoke a little pot, and shoot up. It was her first time shooting up and evidently her last. She didn't know what she was suppose to do, and no one would show her. So she just injected the drugs into her arm.
Three days later she was lying in the hospital, tupes going in her arms, nose, mouth and stomach. Looking nothing like she had just a few days earlier.
"The best day of my life", "the funnest we've had in forever", and "An unforgetable night". Misty had taken Lisa to a concert of her favorite group: NSYNC. Misty had always poked fun at Lisa for liking a 'boyband'. But Misty took her to a concert, and both girls had the time of their lifes. Just Misty's ended not even a day later.

*one month later*
Lisa's emerald green eyes never had the life they had before. She'd never showed any sign of emotion. Even at Misty's funeral Lisa never shed a tear, she just stared. No sign of life inside her eyes.
"Lisa, we need to talk to you" her parents said to her 16 days after her sweet sixteen birthday.
"Yeah?" she asked.
"We talked to you uncle in Maryland. And we think it would be best for your emotional well being if you went to live with him and your aunt. We aren't doing this because we don't love you, because we do very much. We want nothing but the best for you." Her father said to her.
"Wait, you want to send me to Maryland, NOW? Not when Don died, or Rico, or Jeris, but NOW? After I watched my best friend DIE." Lisa snapped a little shocked. "So is this gonna be like when Jana died when I was ten. Gone for a while than return?"
"No, it'll be permanent. You'll stay homeschooling. But it'll be easier for your emotions, not so many reminders." Kat, her mom, said. "Yeah, and you'll get to make a new start, away from everythign you've known. Away from mine and your mothers problems." Evan, her father said.
"Ok, whatever. Banish me if you want. It doesn't matter to me. But I have a few things I need to do first. So can I borrow the car before I start packing for my unavoidable doom?" she asked. "When do I leave?"
"The only time we could get it is the 1st." Evan said. "And sure you can borrow the car." He said.
"Great, next time you alter my life give me at LEAST a week's notice first. Thanx" Lisa mummbled as she grabed the keys and drove to her friend Ashley's house.
*At Ashley's house*
"'Bout time they got a clue. You need to keep in touch and don't forget me. Got it?" Ashley seemed almost happy that her friend was leaving. And truthfuly she was happy for her unhappy friend. Lisa had been to hell and back in the recent years, and the last time she went to Bowie, where her uncle lived she came back happier and dealing with Jana's death much easier.
"Love you too" Lisa said sarcasticly. "Damn if you wanted to get rid of me that bad..." She said smirking. "Ya know it wouldn't bother me so much if they gave me a choice, Lord knows I'd go in a heart beat. I can't take everything that this jole in the ground has to offer my memories."
The two friends laughed and joked about the past, about what they thought the future would hold and what Lisa was gonna do in Maryland. And vowed to both NEVER forget the tie that linked them so much. And never forget each other.
