June came and went, and then July and August. Eric's album was set to release in late November, but Jive sped things up, and by mid-October, it was in stores.
Summer had been a blur of recordings and rehearsals... meetings and negotiations. September brought relaxation because my vocals were done. At ended up that Eric asked Max to co-produce, as well as write for his album. So I saw a ton of Max, whether he visited the loft, worked in the studio, or attended meetings. My "back-up vocals" as Max had described them, were more than I had anticipated, but Eric and Jive were both happy, so I kept my mouth shut.
We started rehearsing for a tour and possible TV appearances before the album was released. I started out just coming to them to give Eric support and the choreographer wanted to work me and Liz, the other back-up singer, into the routines. Then, the choreographer broke her leg in a car accident before two weeks of rehearsing were up. Eric pleaded for me to help choreograph, knowing I had dance experience from my musical theater training.
I didn't was to... I had school to worry about. But, Max offered me a schedule to work around my classes, and a little extra cash so I accepted.
So, my small role in Eric's career quickly and surprisingly turned into a huge job, that was totally fun. I got to sing, dance, be with my friend, and make money doing it! Eric and I seldom got a chance to just chill, but Eric was having too much fun to care. I slowly but surely was becoming a ball of stress. When Thanksgiving Break rolled around, I decided to take 2nd Semester off of school.
I barely survived the couple of weeks before winter vacation and the end of 1st semester. Eric's first single was starting to hit the charts and we were wrapping up rehearsals. I couldn't wait to go on tour and take a break from school. Life was getting hectic.
