"Oh my God, I love this song!" I said loudly as "Let's Have a Party" started blasting.
"Really? Its kinda old... I'm surprised you know it," Brian Littrell said to me over everyone else's conversations.
"No, I know it... I started listening to you in, like, '99... I got all the imports and old stuff," I smiled at him, sipping my mudslide.
"Oh, so you were a true fan? One of those teeny-bopper 12 year olds?" Brian laughed and leaned back in his chair, grinning.
"WERE? I still am, man!"
We both laughed.
Justin and I had barely made it to the guys' tables. Chris had to drag Justin away from me so I could be introduced to the guys with out two lips stuck to my neck. Everyone was genuinely sweet to me, especially Brian. He told me that he had heard a lot about me and Eric from Max and that he was currently looking for new talent to produce. Before he could get completely involved in a business conversation with me, AJ and Lance non-chalantly informed him that I was piss drunk, along with Justin. Brian did a quick double-take, laughed at himself, and apologized for being so formal with me.
"I didn't know you were friends with Justin," he said to me.
"Actually, we just met tonight," I blushed.
"Oh... well, than I guess you make really good first impressions!"
A few minutes later, Brian got up to make a phone call, and JC sat down in his seat.
"So... having fun?" he asked with a smile.
"Yeah! You?" I smiled back.
"Oh, hell yeah! It's a party! Of course I'm having fun!"
"Hey JC! Let's go find some chicks!" I heard Joey's loud voice call from behind me.
JC laughed, "I got one, man! You go have fun," JC rolled his eyes and smiled at me.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned around. Joey's glazed eyes starred back at me.
"Hi, Joey," I said.
"Well, hellooooo..." his words faded away.
"No luck yet with the women?" I laughed.
"I'm working on it!" he said defensively.
"Sure, Joe. Whatever." JC said.
"Shut up, Daddy," Joey smacked JC playfully on the arm.
"Wanna dance, Shelly?" Joey asked, holding out his hand.
I looked over at JC, who simply smiled back at me. "Sure," I said, taking Joey's hand.
"You kids have fun!" I heard JC called behind us.
As Joey led me through the dance floor of people, "Hey, Mr. DJ" started playing. The crowd started grooving to the beat. Joey found an open spot and wrapped his arms loosely around me. We danced like maniacs. He was an awesome dancer and before I knew it, we were in a completely different part of the dance floor, closer to the tables.
"Damn... I'm tired," Joey said, pulling away from me and wiping his forehead.
"Yeah, me too," I said, even though I really wasn't.
"You wanna go sit down?" he asked, starting to move towards the tables.
"No, I think I'll dance a little more. But you go ahead."
"Alright... I'll see you in a bit," Joey said, pecking me sweetly on the cheek and walking away.
I turned to walk farther into the crowd was "Just Got Paid" began to spin. I immediatly started doing the dance that me and my four closest friends had made up when we were juniors in high school.
As I turned around, doing the dance, I spotted Howie, Kevin, and Lance all dancing with different groups of people. I caught Kevin's eye, and smiled. He waved me over to him.
"Hey, how's it going?" he asked, still dancing.
"Great!" I said over the music, also still dancing.
I saw you getting down with Joey... you're a good dancer," he said.
"Thanks!" I smiled widely.
"Oh, yeah... Justin was looking for you a little while ago," he said, waving to someone else across the room.
Oh, really? Where is he now?" I asked. "I'm not sure. He was at the table about 15 minutes ago," he started to walk in the direction of the person of whom he had waved at. "I'm sorry, Shelly. My fiancee just walked in. Talk to you later, though?" He gave me an apologetic smile.
"Oh yeah, sure."
"Ok, cool. See ya!" Kevin smiled and skipped off, landing in the arms of a pretty blond woman.
They immediately began dancing. I grinned to myself at how cute they were. Then I remembered that Kevin had said that Justin was looking for me. I tried to spot him in the crowd, but I got dizzy all of a sudden.
I felt a pair of arms grab me around my back as my head pounded.
"Shelly? Damn... you need to chill from the dancing for a while, girl." I opened my eyes and saw AJ looking at me with concern on his face.
"Yeah...maybe I should go-"
"Sit down... Come on." AJ led me off the dance floor, and sat me down at their table. "You'll be fine.. trust me, I've been there."
I smiled at him, "Thanks," I said.
"Don't thank me... just don't drink anymore tonight. You've already had enough to last you until February!" AJ laughed and patted me gently on the back. "You gonna be ok if I go back and dance for a while?" he asked.
"Yeah, don't worry about me."
"Ok, I'll be back soon."
"Ok."
AJ stood up, and disappeared into the mob of bodies.
I gazed around me slowly, trying to process everything, but my brain was working slower and slower by the minute.
"Shell... Shelly..." I heard Justin's voice.
"Yeah." I looked up to see him, "I heard you were looking for me." I said, putting a hand on my forehead.
"Uh-huh..." Justin moved his hands slowly from my shoulders, all the way down my arms, until he reached my hands and rested his chin on my shoulder.
"Mmmm... yeah, I was looking for you," he repeated.
His breath wreked of liquor.
"Sit down... I think you're worse than me."
"I'm fine..." Justin fell into the chair next to me.
He put his hand on my thigh and began to rub back and forth, slowly. I smiled sexily at him, looking into his eyes. Then, I began to inch closer and closer to him.
"Justin..."
"Yeah?"
"Remember when you said you didn't want to kiss me because I was drunk, and I might regret it?"
We inched closer together.
"Did I really say that?" he said, almost whispering, gazing at my lips.
"You wanna take that back, now? Or do I have to force you?" I said, putting my right hand on his cheek, and moving his hand farther up my thiegh with my other hand.
"I... definitely... take it back."
On his last word, his lips met mine, and he softly kissed my lower and then my upper lip. He moved even closer to me in his seat and wrapped his left arm around my waist, while placing his right hand on my chin. He kissed me again, guiding my face with his hand, while rubbing me back. I moved my fingers through his curls as our kiss deepened. I heard a sigh from Justin as I began to rub his chest and hair at the same time.
We finally slowed our kiss to a stop and he rested his forehead on mine. We sat like that for a while, gazing into each other's eyes, silently. Justin slowly rubbed my back underneath my tank top, as I kept running my fingers through his locks. Slowly, Justin kissed my nose, my cheek, then my chin, and finally my lips, gently. I heard his sigh again as I caressed his soft lips with my tongue, and then pulled in to lightly kiss him.
"You are so... amazing..." he said with his eyes still closed.
His eyes opened slowly, and they were bluer than they had been all night.
"Come back to my place with me tonight..." I whispered.
His eyes widened for a split second and then he replied between kisses, "You... got... it..."
