The week rolled to an ending. Justin and Alyssa spending 4 more afternoons together, and talking on occasional phone calls. A new friendship, had really began to bloom.
Justin stood up and walked into the aisle. Bible Study was something he never really enjoyed. Not a lot of people, nor music for entertainment. Just as him and his mom were leaving he spotted Alyssa's dark ringlets in a group of people to the left.
"Mom, hold on a second," Justin said moving over to where he saw the back of her head. "Hey," He greeted grabbing her by the shoulders.
"Justin, hi," She flashed a smile, tossing a look over his shoulder. He turned to follow the direction in which her gaze grasped. He noticed only his mom.
"Justin!" He heard his mom call him. Turning around, more than obviously annoyed his mom gestured him to come on.
"I'm sorry Alyssa. Gotta go. Talk to ya either tonight or tomorrow. See ya," He forced a smile, abandoning there converstaion to follow his mom.
"Justin, come on we need to go," She directed. Leading the two to her car, and strapping her seatbelt. "I see that you and Miss Taylor have been spending a lot of time together latley," She casually pointed out, focusing her full attention on the road ahead.
"Yeah, we have. She's a really great girl," Justin answered, nodding his head slightly.
"Yeah, well. Um I think that maybe you should spend a little less time with her Justin,"
"Why would I want to do that?"
"I just don't think that you know everything about her. And I don't think she is the kind of person you should be spending so much time with,"
"Why do you say that? She is a very sweet, and caring person," The tone of Justin's voice had raised to a defense.
"Please Justin think about what I said, ok?" She asked as the car pulled into the driveway.
"Alright. But I still don't understand,"
"Ask her. Maybe that will help," Was all Lynn said, walking inside. Ask her what? Justin wondered. He shrugged it of and continued to his room.Collapsing his tired body onto the bed, he picked up the phone, his fingers dialing he Number now engraved in his mind. After several rings, the answering machine picked it up.
"Hey you got Alyssa. I'm apparently not home right now, so if you want just leave a message. I might get back to ya...later." ::BEEP::
"Hey Alyssa. Its me Justin I was-"
"Hello?" She picked up, cutting him off.
"Alyssa? Hey whats up?" He asked.
"Not much. Sorry bout that. I'm screening my calls," She laughed. Justin could almost see her smiling through the phone, which made him smile.
"Not a problem," He said. He heard the raido playing in the back ground. Mandy Moore's Walk me Home. As he listened closer he heard Alyssa softly singing along. Her voice sweet, and pure.
"Enjoying yourself?" Justin grinned, as his ears picked up on the soft lyrics.
"Oh you know it," She giggled, and joined in once more on the chorus. "Baby wont you walk me home, I dont wanna go all the way alone. baby wont you walk with me home. Baby won't you take my hand, come with me now to a special land, baby wont you walk with me home," Her words soft, getting louder. Justin couldn't help but to smile,
"Hey Alyssa, have you ever concidered singing professionally?" Justin wondered, catching her by surprise.
"I've thought of it many times. But never tried to make it happen, you know what I mean?"
"Yeah. I honestly think you should consider it. I mean Lance has a record label. He could sign you, and you never know what could come. He only currently has country acts. But, I think he wouldnt mind a little pop."
"I dont think so justin."
"PLease, just consider it. You have the voice of an Angel, you need to use it. AT least let me ask Lance," Justin pleaded.
"Go ahead. But still, like I said I dont know,"
"Well, what do you say me, you, and Lance meet up at the coffee house in 25 minutes?" Justin laughed as she responded quickly.
"Justin! Its like 11 o'clock."
"I know, you coming?"
"UH, I guess so. I'll be there," She mumbled.
"Great! See ya then!" The soft click of the reciever was heard, followed by dead silence. Alyssa sighed. She had already dressed in pajamas, so she went to change into some regular clothes. Dressing quickly in jeans, and a plain white tank top she went downstairs, and into her car.
"I can't belive you talked me into coming down here," Alyssa graoned, settling beside Lance and Justin, at a round table inb the corner of a small coffee shop. The strong scent of coffee lingered in the air. A limited amount of people were there, considering the late time hour.
"Ahh, you know you dont mind," Justin smiled batting his eyes. Alyssa laughed, and rolled her eyes looking in Lance's direction.
"So Curly. Dazzle me with this so called great idea you have," Lance told him, cocking his head a bit.
"Well, I think that you should sign Alyssa to your label. You can manage her. Trust me it is such a great idea!" The look of excitment that danced through Justin's eyes, was inmistakable, as he beamed at Lance.
"Can she sing?" Lance asked looking at him as if he had lost him his mind.
