Chapter Sixteen

Everything continued its outward spin. Shooting further and further away from any normalacy she had ever known. She could still see the lights flashing, people screaming, her blood pumping. The reality of it had left, and the more she thought about it, the reality was never there. As her head hit the pillow, she could feel her thoughts burning again, replaying every beat, and scream in her head. A perfect memory, engraved in her mind forever.

"I Believe in you, I believe in you, I Believe in YOU," The words were soft against her lips. Cradling her heart in a perfect bundle of sweet emotions, and bottled up feelings she hadnt come to recognize. The simplicity of it was vivid, yet the person behind it was even more rational. Her wet hair was cold against her neck, her body stretched out comfortably across the neatly made bed. So many thoughts pounded in her head, she couldn't close her eyes, or even allow the thought of sleep to penetrate.

"I believe in you...He believes in me," This time her voice was outloud, as she suffered to rid the scene from her mind. "Of course he does, I mean he was the one who told you to do this, but HE BELIEVES IN ME," She sighed loudly, squeezing her eyes closed. Pulling her legs against her chest, she practically jumped from the bed as someone knocked on the door. Her feet made a loud thump as they hit the ground. Oblivious to the nightstand sitting beside her bed her foot ran carlessly into it.

"OUCH! DANGIT!" Her scream was loud, as she brought her foot up, holding it in her hand.

"Just come in!" She yelled again the door slowly creaking open. She payed no attention to the figure leaning against the wall, as she aided to her toe.

"Are we talking to ourselfs Alyssa?" The sarcasm was immediatly matched with a face, Alyssa smirked.

"Oh yesss, stupid night stand," Alyssa smacked her hand down on it, wincing from the pain again.

"Well, sweetheart is the hotel room beating you up, cause Im sure we could arrange for you to go in a different room," Justin chuckled a little looking down her foot. A small trickle of blood trailed down her toe, dripping onto the bed.

"I just came by to tell you what a great show you did. You looked...I mean you did amazing," Justin smied, looking down at his feet. His cheeks flushing a light shade of crimson. Alyssa gave a nervous laugh as well, trying to ignore his slip.

"I've never expeirenced anything like that. It was like I was singing to the whole world, and they all loved me. As corny as that sounds, it was just incredible," Alyssa's smile was big, her eyes dazed over with a look of complete enjoyment.

"Quite a rush. Sometimes I think I take for granted what I get to do. Of course it has all its downs, but still whenever Im up on stage, and the fans are screaming I know its all worth it. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world," Justin smiled, plopping down on the bed. Alyssa's back was pressed into the headboard, Justin at the opposite end his feet swinging over the side. Neither one said anything else, both of their minds drifting off into the fields of their feelings both had never explored. Alyssa watched as Justin slowly stood up, quietly walking to the other side of the bed, grabbing both of her hands in his, gesturing her up.

"Jus-" Alyssa was cut off as Justin placed his finger on the tip of her lips, silencing her question. His voice was small, as he watched Alyssa's hand slightly shaking.

"Take a walk with me?" Justin asked. She nodded her head slightly as Justin led her out of the room, and down the hallway. Her mind was frozen and all she could do was follow him. As they walked outside, Justin laced his fingers with hers as he walked around the hotel, where the beach lay deserted in front of them. Alyssa swallowed hard looking at the scene in front of her. It looked like something right out of a fairy tale. The sky was dark, tiny stars filtering through. The moon's glow streaked the waves, as they gently foamed against the sand.

"Coming?" Justin had found his voice, his eyes looking straight into hers.

"Yeah..." She whispered following him onto the wet sand.

Justin stopped just right where the waves barley hit his bare ankles, just enough to get his feet wet. Alyssa sat close beside him, burring her feet into the sand. It was cool against her skin as she let the feeling of serinity all around her seep into her bones. Turning to look at Justin, she saw his chisled profile, his arms resting on his knees he seemed completely captivated in whatever he was thinking about.

"Justin..." Alyssa's voice didnt raise anymore than a whisper, as he turned to look at her.

His eyes immediatly found hers, as he fought not to drown in the currents of blue and green dancing in wonderment and fear. They intrigued him for some reason, and he wanted to see behind them and figure out what it was about her that made his heart go through the emotional puzzles it did.

"Yes?"

"Why are we here?"

"I'm really not sure," Was all he said, His stomach twisted, as he watched the wind blow, making her hair hit his shoulder. It was complete torture to not be able to run his fingers through it, or to hold her shivering body against his. His feelings multiplied everytime she would look over and smile at him, or her hand would brush his. He hated the way she was able to make him so vulnerable, and yearning for her to just be in his arms.

"Alyssa, dance with me..."

Alyssa looked up puzzled. "But theres no music..." She trailed off looking at his body standing under the shadow of the moon. He looked so perfect, so wanting. "Ok..." She said slowly walking up beside him. He surprised her when he reached out wrapping his arms around her waist. Slowly she allowed her arms to lock around his neck. Laying her cheek against his chest she sighed heavily as he started humming something, his voice so sweet that she wished she could just hold it in her arms forever. Quiety he started singing, his voice muffled from her curls.

"Look at the sky

Tell me what do you see

Just close your eyes

And describe it to me

The heavens are sparkling

With starlight tonight

That's what I see

Through your eyes"

Alyssa fought hard to control the tears stinging at her eyes. Justin pulled her a little closer to him, as she tightened her grip around his neck.

"I see the heavens

Each time that you smile

I hear your heartbeat

Just go on for miles

And suddenly I know

My life is worth while

That's what I see

Through your eyes"

A single tear rolled down her cheek, landing on Justin's shirt. He could feel the mositure soaking through, and could feel her body shaking. The need to protect her hit him hard, as he held her body tight against him. Everything just felt so right. Him holding her under the moon. The wind chasing shadows across the water. It was magical he thought, that was the only word coming even close to describing it, magical.

"Here in the night

I see the sun

Here in the dark

Our two hearts are one

It's out of our hands

We can't stop what we have begun

And love just took me by surprise

Looking through your eyes"

Justin could feel her muscles tighten at his words, as he stopped swaying. Pulling away he released his hands from her waist, cupping her face gently in his hands. Her skin was soft, dampened with tears.

"What are you so scared of..." Justin whispered against her cheek.

He watched as she shivered again, another tear rolling down her cheek. Wiping it away with his thumb, his gaze got trapped into hers again, as he slowly leaned in. Alyssa followed, as a thousand thoughts clouded her mind. All she could do was meet him for the one thing she knew she wanted, she knew she needed. His lips barley touched hers, when she pulled away quickly. Justin looked up, his face visible with fear, as the tears contiuned to fall down her cheek. Slowly backing away she started walking back up the beach. Her steps turned into a run as Justin chased as fast as he could after her.
