1973

JANUARY 16, 1973
KING'S HALL, ABERYSTWYTH, ENGLAND

Length: 34 minutes

Track List: Stairway To Heaven(begining cut), Whole Lotta Love(incl. Everbody Needs Somebody, Boogie Woogie, Baby I Don't Care, Let's Have a Party, I Can't Quit You/Goin Down Slow).

Recording Quality: Fair to Good audience recording. Slighly flat sounding-some tape fluctuation.

Comments:Some hints of The Hunter are played just before the spaced out section of Whole Lotta Love.

Bootleg CD Reference: Strange Affinity by Electric Magic.

JANUARY 28, 1973
KINGS THEATER, EDINBURGH, SCOTTLAND

Approximate Length: 48minutes(incomplete)

Track List: Rock And Roll(cuts in and additional cuts), Over The Hills And Far Away, The Song Remains The Same, Rain Song, Dazed And Confused.

Recording Quality: Fair to Poor muffled audience recording.

Comments: A poor recording of a great show. Date/Venue seem to be questionable.

MARCH 14, 1973
MESSHALLE, NUREMBURG, GERMANY

CORRECTION?

Comments: Luis Rey describes 2 tapes, one poor and complete and one very good but incomplete with 60 minutes. I believe this may be incorrect. The copy I've heard is a very good quality audience recording that's nearly complete. The tape is 127 minutes long with the end of The Song Remains the Same missing and large cut out of the middle of Stairway to Heaven. Maybe Luis Rey had a poor, but mostly complete copy of the tape I've described and also better, but even more incomplete version of the same tape?

MARCH 16, 1973
STADHALLE, VIENNA, AUSTRIA

Length: 128 minutes(almost complete)

NEW SOURCE
Track Listing: Rock And Roll, Over The Hills And Far Away, Black Dog, Misty Mountain Hop, Since I've Been Loving You, Dancing Days, Bron-Y-Aur Stomp, The Song Remains The Same, The Rain Song, Dazed And Confused (slightly cut, incl. San Francisco), Stairway To Heaven (small cut at the beginning), Whole Lotta Love (minor cut at the beginning of the funky section, incl. Boogie Chillun', Baby I Don't Care, Let's Have A Party, I Can't Quit You Baby, The Lemon Song), Heartbreaker (cuts in during the intro).

Recording Quality:Very good (near excellent) audience recording.

Comments: Now we have Four different recordings for this great show. Jimmy's guitar is very up front in this recording. Quality is similar, but slighly better, than the Nuremberg '73 show described above.

MARCH 24, 1973
ORTHENAUHALLE, OFFENBURG, GERMANY

Approximate Length: 137 minutes

Track List:Rock And Roll, Over The Hills and Far Away, Black Dog, Misty Mountain Hop/Since I've Been Loving You, Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp, The Song Remins The Same, The Rain Song, Dazed and Confused, Stairway to Heaven, Whole Lotta Love, Hearbreaker(cut).

Recording Quality:Very good mono audience recording.

Comments:A second source for one of the best shows ever. This tape is very important because it confirms that Dancing Days was NOT played. This tape plays slower than all of the stereo tape versions I've heard. Based on the other Europe '73 recordings, this tape is speed correct.

MAY 31, 1973
THE FOURUM, INGLEWOOD, CA, U.S.A.

Length: 47 minutes.

Track List: Celebration Day (Cuts In)/Bring It On Home (intro)/Black Dog, Over The Hills and Far Away, Misty Mt. Hop/Since I've Been Loving You(has one drop out), No Quarter, The Song Remains The Same/The Rain Song(cut).

Recording Quality: Very good Soundboard. Similar in quality to the other '73 board tapes.

Comments: Another dry '73 soundboard tape. Personally, I think the audience tapes of this show are much more enjoyable.

Bootleg CD Reference: Bonzo's Birthday Presents by Celebration Difinitive Masters.

July 17, 1973
SEATTLE CENTER COLISEUM, SEATTLE, WA, U.S.A.

CORRECTION

Luis Rey incorrectly states that the soundboard tape is complete. The soundboard tape is missing Moby Dick, Heartbreaker/Whole Lotta Live, and The Ocean.
