Chapter Six-In Memory Of
For the rest of the day James stayed in Dumbledore’s office. He was thinking of times he had spent with his father.
Right before the sun was about to set Dumbledore came into his office, “James it is time for the memorial for your father.”
James got up and followed Dumbledore to the Dining hall. Many people were there including the whole school. Some James new others he didn’t.
He saw his mother and walked over to her. She looked very sad. Dumbledore had walked up to the teachers table, raised his hands for silence.
When everyone was quiet he began to speak, “ We are here tonight to honor a very brave man. His name was Zachary Potter. Zachary Potter died in a duel with Dorl Kardof. Zachary served our magical world well as an Auror. I can still remember Zachary in school. No I was not Headmaster then. Instead I was a classmate. Not even a classmate but I was a best friend of Zachary. Zachary Potter has honored us so now we shall honor him.” Dumbledore finished. He raised his glass along with everyone else and then they all mumbled “Zachary Potter” many people were now crying. Food appeared on everyone’s plates and they all ate in silence.
When James was done eating he hugged his mom as tight as he could and said goodbye. Then he made his way up to the Gryffindor tower. In the common room he met Sirius, Remus, Lily and Peter they all ran up too him and hugged him. “James we're all sorry,” Lily said. She looked as though she had been crying.
“It all right,” James said. He walked up the stairs and went to bed.
The next few days were very quiet for James. All he did was go to class do his work and go back to the common room to do his homework. James friends were desperately trying to cheer James up. They were doing everything they could. But James just couldn’t shake off his fathers death.
