First Aid Kit for Dogs

These are some of the items I keep in my First Aid Kit that I think no Dane or dog owner for that matter should be without. These items are kept in a tool box and I do not go to shows with out it.

  • Peroxide

  • Rubbing Alcohol

  • Water

I keep the items above in hair dye bottles they can be purchased unused at Sally's Beauty Supply. Any small spill proof container will do

  •  Anti- Bacterial Hand Gel (no water required)

  •  Neosporin

  •  Tolnaftate Antifungal Cream (spray is fine too)

  •  Benadine Solution

  •  Benadryl

  •  Phazyme (for gas)

  •  Contact Solution (Renu)

  •  Imodium Anti- Diarrhea Caplets

  •  Mentholatum (male deterrent) >=)

  •  Pepto Bismol

  •  DMSO (liquid form of MSM for Joint injuries)

  •  Quick Stop

  •  Towel or Wash Cloth

  •  Dental Floss

  •  Baby Wipes

  •  Gauze Pads (assorted sizes)

  •  Thermometer

  •  Vaseline (to coat thermometer)

  •  Bag Balm

  •  Plastic Baggies

  •  Scissors

  •  Porus Tape

  •  Co-Flex Wrap (any size)

  •  Tweezers

  •  Small Flash Light (mine is about 2 inches x 1/4 in)

  •  Aspirin (coated)

  •  Chlorophyll Tablets

  •  Bitter Apple (hot spot spray)

  •  Pedyalite (liquid or powder)

  •  Cotton Balls

  •  Gauze

  •  Ice Pack

  •  Slip Lead (can also be used as a muzzle)

  •  Super Glue

  •  Bloat Tube (if you are unsure how to use this please have someone show you if not you may do more harm   than good)

  •  Dremel

  •  Battery Operated Clippers

Please Note: Please discuss all procedures you are unsure of with your veterinarian. These are items I use and work for me but some can be dangerous if misused. Please read up on all the above before administering to your animal.

Skunk Odor Remedy
1/2 Pint Warm Water
12 oz. Peroxide
2 T. Baking Soda
2 t. Vanilla
1/4 Cup Dish Soap
Leave on for 5 minutes, then rinse.
