This episode was a dissapointment. I was actually excited about seeing it, then I literally watched it fizzle before my eyes. It did have an element of mystery, in the beginning it looked like a neat plot was unfolding, then it got boring halfway through when Seven changed alliances. Then it just became a boring game of guess who, and there was absolutely NO surprise when Janeway and Chakotay kiss and make up. Did anyone not see that coming?
Maybe if the writers had come up with a plot that unfolded into something relating to neither Starfleet or the Maquis, that would have been interesting and left them open to future episodes, but this was short of the goal. Everything about it suggested something causing severe ramifications for Voyager, even the interviews with Brannon Braga and cast members. It seems to me Paramount knew it was a crappy idea and just tried to creat hype over it. That makes me a little mad.
So what do we do now? Well, get rid of those "Voyager's Going Home!" bumper stickers. and call your excited parents at the conventions and tell 'em to come home, because it doesn't look like Voyager will be anytime soon.
Rating: C+ (Severely bias)
