News 25/11/02

Welcome to the 2002/2003 Season of Langer! JL has started off the season well, making runs in the first two Ashes Tests. He looks in great form, and I'm sure he'll make many more runs this summer. Sorry for the lack of updates recently - busy with real work! But stay tuned for major updates...

News 25/08/01

WOOHOO!!! Justin made his comeback in the best possible way, making an unbeaten century in the first innings. He was stopped only by a nasty blow to the head that forced him to retire hurt.

I've added some pics from his innings to the "Images" section.

News 23/08/01

Justin has been re-selected into the Australian Test team to take on the Poms tonight... about time. Unfortunately it was at the expense of Slat, but this photo shows they are still mates:

News 04/06/01

Congratulations JL on being named Wisden Cricketer of the Year 2001 !!! Yay !!!

News 25/03/01

And so JL's first tour of India has come to an end. A sad end, with a series loss, but I'm sure the experience he's had over there was utterly amazing. I think JL has a bit of a break now until the Ashes series. I have a million updates to the site to get online, so stay tuned...

News 18/03/01

Although it was devasting to see the Aussies lose to India, it was so excellent to see JL actually bowl in a Test Match! He bowled 2 overs, going for 3 runs - considering how badly the Aussies were being carted that day, it was pretty impressive! He also batted better than most in the second innings... it looked like the Aussies were going to make a game out of it when JL came in to bat, making 28 very quickly... wasn't to be though :(

News 02/03/01

JL is travelling nicely in India... not only did he get a decent start in the first innings of the First Test, he also swung the game Australia's way - the way he bounced the catch from Tendulkar off his back straight into Punter's hands was magnificent! He also made a very nice 115 in one of the practice games.

News 12/02/01

Hello everyone, long time no news! But the JL goss is sure to hot up soon when he starts thrashing around those Indians on their own turf - can't wait to see him in action over there.

I know I've been incredibly slack in updating the news section over the last month, but I've been away, and JL hasn't really seen much action. But I am 100% back in business now.

My big news from the last month is that I got to meet Justin Langer! (and no, it's not true that I immediately fell into a faint and have only just recovered and that's why I haven't been writing here :) Anyway, I went backpacking around the south of WA in Jan, and of course included a tour of the WACA on the trip. The WA team was training in the nets, and I of course watched in awe. So amazing to see JL in action so close. You can imagine how excited I was! Not as excited as when he did all this extra fielding and fitness training at the end of the session... topless!!! *** big cheesy grin *** Anyway, I summoned up the courage to go up and ask him for an autograph, and he was really sweet :) I was too gobsmacked by his presence to make any intelligent conversation though :( Next time... Woohoo, I just can't believe that I finally got to meet him!!!

The next day I went to the WA vs NSW onedayer at the WACA, and JL made a nice 20... 3500km for 20 runs - the sad thing is that it was totally worth it! The best thing was seeing how much support he has from his home crowd. I wanna move to Perth! Seriously - such a beautiful, modern, relaxed city, I loved it... not too mention the huge billboards advertising the Warriors with pics of JL!

News 26/12/00

Seasons Greetings to everyone :) Hope you all stay merry and safe. Extra special Happy-whatever-you-celebrate-at-this-time-of-year to you Justin... thanks for helping to make the Year 2000 of cricket wonderful, and best wishes for the coming year.

Justin made 31 in the Boxing Day Test today... he looked great - very confident and played some superb shots. And can I just say how excited I was to see him batting in person for the first time in a very long time!

News 02/12/00

Justin made only 5 runs in the first innings against the WI yesterday in Perth. He played a magnificant on-drive for four - a typically confident, perfectly-timed JL shot... but then in the next over he faced, he edged one to slips.

I know it's been a slow start to the season JL, but keep your head up, keep thinking positively, remember that you are one of the most talented cricketers in the world, and the runs will come. If that doesn't help, maybe knowing that you have so much public support will? Anyway, we're all behind you, and will be just as happy as you when you make your first big Test score this summer.

News 25/11/00

How good are the Aussies? They are kicking some serious Windie butt in Brisbane at the moment in the First Test. JL made only 3 runs in the first innings, but he fielded excellently and took a great catch. Well, a really easy catch actually, but he caught it with such style!

News 21/11/00

HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY JL !!! Hope you have a great day, and best wishes for the coming year :)

News 11/11/00

Justin is in the middle of a four-day tour game for WA against the West Indies. He made a sharp 45 in WA's first innings, then was run out. He didn't end up batting in the Cup Day fun game as it was washed out. Only 10 sleeps til JL's 30th birthday, and 12 sleeps to the First Test!

News 07/11/00

Happy Melbourne Cup Day everyone! Not a horseracing fan myself, but you gotta love a long weekend (and where else but the sporting capital of the world, Melbourne, would you get a day off for a horse race?)

Lang is playing a fun game today in Perth, an invitation 11 versus the Windies. Will be a nice warmup for the First Test, which starts NEXT WEEK (yes, I'm excited!) I'll let you know how he goes...

If you have a minute, please follow this link to vote for JL as Best Batsman in the "Click Cricket" International Cricket Awards. Not only do you support Justin - you can win cool prizes too. TA!

News 03/11/00

WA ended up drawing that Sheffield Shield game against SA. JL is spending this week in sunny QLD, on a bonding camp with the other contracted Aussie players.

News 26/10/00

Woohoo, how excitement! As I write JL is making his first runs for the season. He's currently 30no after facing 44 balls for the Warriors... GO JUSTIN!

Later... JL ended up making 60 runs off 77 balls, including ten 4s. So his season has really started now :)

News 24/10/00

JL has had a shocker of a start to the season with the Warriors - 3 innings for 3 ducks! Ooopsie! Guess he's just adjusting to the batting conditions here after his wonderful season in Pommyland. Justin: I'm sure you'll warm up soon enough and will pile on the runs for WA before the 1st Test (which is only a few weeks away - yippee!). Chin up and best of luck for the coming season :)

News 14/10/00

Welcome to Season 2000/2001!!! How excitement! Well, JL's season has gotten off to the worst possible start... he made a duck against the Bulls in their Milk Cup game today... out caught behind, off Andy Bichel's bowling, facing only his 4th ball... Ah well, Justin - the season can only get better from now on!

News 08/10/00

Woohoo!!! Check out all the updates to the site that I finally got around to doing... well, we had a whole weekend with no footy, no Olympics and no cricket - didn't know what to do with myself! If any of the new bits aren't working (which is quite likely!) please let me know.

JL's season will get under way next Friday the 13th (not sure how superstitious you are Justin, but I hope that date doesn't bring you bad luck :) ... anyway, next Friday the Warriors start a Milk Cup game against the Bulls. I, for one, can't wait!

News 21/09/00

JL has finished the County season off in lovely style with a 76 against Glamorgan. He made 1472 runs for Middlesex this season.

Follow this link to view Middlesex's fixture for season 2000.

News 17/09/00

Sorry there haven't been any updates for yonks, but I have been busy drowning my sorrows after my team lost the AFL Grand Final :(

It's okay though, the excitement of the Sydney Olympics is helping to distract me, and of course the cricket season here kicks off in 2 weeks... yay!

JL has finished his county season off with a bang! He made 213 NOT OUT against Glamorgan! I think he's only got one more game over there, tonight my time, then it's back to Australia for him... again - yay! His other recent scores were:

Versus Warickshire, September 5 - 8 ... 70

Versus Warickshire, September 9... 9

Follow this link to view Middlesex's fixture for season 2000.

News 27/08/00

Lang is right back into the runs again... hopefully just warming up for the season coming up here in a few months... given that it's still the footy season here, I just have to say GO DEMONS !!!! Sorry but it's only our second Grand Final appearance in my lifetime, so I'm a tad excited :) Anyway, back to the cricket, and here are Justin's latest scores for Middlesex:

Versus Warickshire, August 16... 93

Versus Warickshire, August 17 - 20... 109 & 69

Versus Gloucestershire, August 22 - 25... 77 & 20

PS: While you're online, pop over to Cricketzone.com site and you can have your say on Lang by giving him a rating out of 5.

News 016/08/00

JL's recent results...

Versus Sussex, July 28 - July 31... 0 and 48

Versus Essex, August 2 - 5... 5 and 0

Versus Surey, August 6... 8

Versus Notting, August 9 - 12... 108 and DNB (and MIddlesex actually won!)

Versus Notting, August 13... 29

News 05/08/00

Unfortunately Justin has missed out on the Australian vice-captaincy this time around, but I reckon Gilly (being another Western Australian and all) will do a fantastic job). I've been thinking though... with Gilly busy being the Aussie VC, the Warriors need a new skipper...

News 25/07/00

The runs for Justin and Middlesex have been slow but fairly steady at least... his recent scores have been:

Versus Worcestershire, July 7 - July 10... 23 and didn't bat in the 2nd innings

Versus Glamorgan, July 12 - July 15... 7 and 61

Versus Durham, July 16... 16

Versus Hampshire, July 23... 21

News 08/07/00

Unfortunately the Aussie selectors didn't pick JL for the one day games here in Melbourne in August... which really sucks coz I woul dhave gone to watch Justin bat 3 times in a week! Ah well, least he won't be missing any games for Middlesex.

The runs have dried up slightly for JL over in the Mother Country...

Versus Essex, June 28 - July 1, he made a duck :( and 15

Versus Essex, July 2, he made 7

Versus Durham, July 5, he made 1

Now this is for the girls only... please head over to Karen's cricket site (see my links page or earlier news reports for the URL) and voice your thoughts in the very important petition she has going. Also check out the interesting poll she has going at the moment :) I'm not telling you what my answer was!!!

News 25/06/00

JL has had a few days break from cricket, so there's no scores to report. But while you're online, pop over to the Official Western Warriors site and vote for JL as "your favourite Australian cricket player". He's (of course) winning at the moment. Thanks!

News 20/06/00

Just quickly, some more Langer runs to report :)

In the second innings against Nottinghamshire he made another first class century - 104. He was the only Crusader to make many runs at all... and it wasn't enough for them to win :(

In the one day game against Derbyshire he made 56... the lowest score of his past five innings! Not bad at all huh? Five scores over 50 all in a row? Yay JL! Pity the team aren't giving him the back up needs for them to win some more games... While you're here, check out the latest article I've added... CricInfo says that JL has made 25% of Middlesex's runs this season!

News 17/06/00

Justin has made a couple of big scores recently :)

In the first innings against Nottinghamshire he made a wonderful 96, including 15 fours and 1 six.

In the second innings against Sussex he made 65, to follow up his 64 in the first innings.

No other exciting cricket news to report, except that Hansie has made yet another confession - wonder if it's the whole truth this time? The only good thing about the whole debacle is that no Aussies have been implicated, apart from Mark Waugh and Warnie giving pitch reports... And there is not a chance in hell that JL would EVER be involved in anything like that... he is far too honest, and has a great love and respect for the game that he would never be tempted.

News 08/06/00

Here are Justin's recent scores:

31 May - 3 June vs Gloucestershire - 49 & 41

4 June vs Glamorgan - 16

6 - 10 June vs Sussex - 64 (off 65 balls)

So he's still doing pretty well over there, although I wish he'd do even better coz he's the pillar of my fantasy cricket team :)

In update news, I've added a new VIDEO section...

News 25/05/00

JL has been stacking on the runs over in Pommyland, here are his main scores so far....

24 Apr vs Kent - 66*

1 May vs Derbyshire - 12

7 May vs Hampshire - 20

3-6 May vs Hamptonshire - 120 & 37

11-13 May vs Worcestshire - 1 & 73

24-27 May vs Hamptonshire - 17

Can't think of any Can't think of any other JL news I need to share... So I'll leave you with this pic of Captain Langer :)

Oh yeah, I've updated the Statistics, Ratings, News (duh!) and Links pages today. Also, there's stack of new pics up at the Yahoo Club for Justin Langer

News 04/05/00

Yay, Justin has just made his first century for Middlesex this season! He made 120 off 163 balls, before eventually being bowled by Cousins of Northhamptonshire.

In the other 3 games that Middlesex have actually been able to get out onto the ground and play, he's made 66*, 12 and a duck. I love how in his first innings after making a duck he just stolls out and makes a ton :)

Thanks to my Middlesex correspondant, Caroline, for keeping me in touch.

I've added some new audio, click HERE to go straight there... More pics as well, but you have to Join The Club (see details below) to see 'em.

News 23/04/00

Rain rain go away, come again another day... after the cricket season would be good. *** sigh *** All JL's games have been washed out so far, so no news of his cricketing feats to report at all sorry. But how about a round of applause for me? - for refraining (so far) from making jokes about the Mother Country's shocking weather.

Well to keep you all entertained, I've posted some new photos of the spunk himself. The only thing is... they aren't just posted on this page, you have to join the Yahoo club dedicated to Mr Langer to view them... hold onto your hair, joining the club is really easy - just click onto http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/justinlangersfans - all you have to do is click on the words "JOIN THIS CLUB", come up with a nickname, and away you go. Easy peasy. And there's not only JL pics, there's a message board for talkin' about JL in particular and cricket in general, chat, links... and it's a good way to meet other fans of Justin.

Sorry to make you do that, but this Angelfire site is just about out of space, so I can't add any new pics right here. If anyone has any recommendations for *** free *** web space, please let me know. Once I find more free & decent space, then I'll be able to expand this site.

Anyway, that's all for now. If it actually stops raining in Pommyland sometime in the next 6 months I'll let you know how Justin performs...

Oh yeah, the easiest way to know when this site is updated is to fill out the form below... When a change to the site is made you will be notified by email. Cool huh?

News 16/04/00

JL has landed over in Pommyland to take up his duties as Middlesex captain for season 2000. Their first game was washed out yesterday...

In more exciting news, check out my new banner... I think it has just the right degree of tackiness to suit this site :)
