This is the AMT General Lee kit released in 1997 that I built and won 1st place in a Hobbytown USA Model Car Show. I built the kit in the Fall of '97. I would have used the Revell Charger kit which is more accurate, but at the time I built this, it wasn't released yet.

I loved the Dukes of Hazzard when I was little and I still love to watch it today. Since TNN pulled it from their lineup I haven't been able to watch them in a while. I collect Dukes of Hazzard Memorabilia and I have also bought a 1969 Dodge Charger that I plan on building into a General Lee that will replicate one of the first ones built and were used for filming in Georgia.

These guys are some of the best if you are wanting to know anything that has to do with the General Lee. They are also really good when it comes to current events of everything going on with the Dukes. This is a GREAT site to check out if you are a Duke fan!

Ben Jones (the real Cooter) and his wife own and run this little Dukes of Hazzard museum/ gift shop that is located in Sperryville, Virginia. There have been a lot of Dukes gatherings here including the recent Duke Fest '01 where over 30 General Lees were present including a big part of the cast and crew.
