My General Lee

Ok, so this isn't a real full-size General Lee.... it's just a small model kit that I built. I've fooled a lot of people with some of these pictures. Everyone seems to think it's real even though it's only 8 1/2 inches long. I entered this very accurate model in a local Hobbytown USA Model Show and walked away with first place! I researched everything about the General Lee and tried to make it as accurate as possible.

I fully detailed the whole engine comparment with spark plug wires, battery cables, fuel lines, and radiator hoses that didn't come with the kit. Like I mentioned earlier... I researched the "General Lee" and found out that the 426 Hemi was never used during the show, so that would make the engine incorrect. Instead, I put a small block 383 ci out of another kit. I tried to find a correct air filter and this was the closest I could find. It came from a 1932 Ford kit that I had.

In this picture, you can compare the differances in the rear window. The car on the left is one that my brother built. The one on the right is mine. As you can see, I cut out the back window and rebuilt it to look like a regular Charger and not a Charger 500. Also, notice the correct CNH 320 plate that I handmade and the hallowed out tail pipes. Also notice the CB antenna that I handmade too.

Here you can see how the paint job turned out. I painted the orange and then wet sanded it. I then painted three coats of clear and wet sanded between each coat. After all of that I polished out the paint job twice with a model kit polish. Also... notice the correct mirror on the door. I took it from a Road Runner kit that I had.

Here's a picture of one of the General's that I was working on and then kinda stopped because I haven't had time to finish it. I'm gonna make it a fully weathered General Lee. Notice the little Bo Duke driver!
