Absolution
He pretends to slumber
Whilst awake and living out his nightmares.
The pain he feels cripples and corrupts,
It stabs, drawing blood.
His terrors, exact and sobering, encircle him
And his loneliness breathes into them life.
The ghouls astir and reborn, cover his body,
Molesting and gnawing at his psyche,
Licking the crimson of his wounds,
Drinking the depravity.
In the darkness, cursed and saturated in sin,
He fumbles for redemption.
Begging for, yet receiving none,
He turns and kisses his vampires.
Facing his spectral fears,
He wanders blindfold to his destiny,
Mounting the wild horse set before him as a bribe,
And gallops into the fiery Gehenna that awaits.
